That's cool. Downloaded it. Now I have something else to play with. :)

Thread: Is there any way to create a brand-new preset category? | Forum: Bryce
Anyway to get this to work with Bryce 4? Tried making the copy of the user objects category and renaming it and nothing happened. Is it possible theres something in the registry somewhere?

Thread: About the backroom... | Forum: Bryce
I know A.S. would love sticky posts for one reason... The "Why can't I get this to export?" type messages. Seems like they show up every other week or so. Heheheh.

Thread: WIP...Any Suggestions? | Forum: Bryce
It would be cool if there was somebody encamped on one of the mountains with smoke rising up. Then he'd be looking at something other than just the scenery. It's not bad as it is, but could use more drama.

Thread: Taking a few trys at modeling a car. | Forum: 3D Modeling
Well, I know I'm not too keen on the excessive tri's in my first posting. But thats what happens when you fill in a spline in Anim8or. It makes lotsa tris. I suppose the trick is reducing the polys to a point where the wheel wells are still rounded. Personally I'd like to try to convert it to mostly quads (trying to avoid n-gons for sake of rendering.) Dunno why, but seems like it would make a "cleaner" model. Not only that, but I need to change the mesh for better geometry. In the real car, the doors are curved slightly as opposed to being flat and the wheel wells flare out a little bit. If anyone has a surefire method to clean up excessive tri's while avoiding n-gons and still maintaining curved geometry - please clue me in. The bottom pic has a nicer (cleaner) mesh than the model in the top. Perhaps I should screen capture the wire mesh view so I can show it. Just to see if it makes more sense than the top one. Obviously it's lower poly, as the wheel wells aren't quite nicely rounded. I guess I started doing this so I can have some models of the cars that I'm likely to see in the neighborhood rather than some exotic. I'm funny that way, while everyone else is modeling some pricey thing I'm trying to make the ol' beater down at the end of the street. :) P.S. The spoked wheel in my bottom series of pictures was made in Bryce. It's very simple to do in Bryce using multi-replicate. Just divide the number of spokes by 360 for the rotation angle and set the number of times to number of spokes minus one. Positioning them is just a matter of tweaking them all at once in object space mode. If you look close enough, you can see that I even managed to get a 4-cross pattern. Yeah I know not everyone uses Bryce, but when it's advantageous I usually end up hybridizing my mesh creations with Bryce primitives.

Thread: Seige FINAL | Forum: Bryce
Reminds me more of "Evil Dead - Army of Darkness" rather than LOTR. Probably because it's skeletons rather than orcs. Now all you need is that crazy guy from our dimension with the beat up car, shotguns, and a chainsaw. Man that movie was funny. By the way, are there any up close and personal detail shots? L8R!

Thread: Is there a way to make an acurate height map out of a Bryce model? | Forum: Bryce
That just sounds funny... It gives the phrase "I think I like living near the mountains." a whole new meaning. LOL!

Thread: Car Animations in Bryce... The Moving Tyres.... | Forum: Bryce
First, go to the edit menu selection. Then go to the pulldown next to the rotate control. Select "object space". Then select the wheel and the tire. You will probably have to ctrl or ctrl-shift select the wheel and tire so as not to affect the continuity of the entire vehicle grouping. Then (provided your model loaded aligned to the Z-axis properly) you can rotate the wheels on the x-axis. Note that for this to work right you should be in object space mode. For the front wheels, the steering direction can be controled by rotating on the Y-axis. Likewise, one could also regroup the vehicle separating the wheels and tires from the overall grouping. Then make wheel and tire groups which are child objects of the vehicle. Sometimes this is an easier way to do things. It can be easier to control heiarchy using the parent-child system rather than the regular grouping. Also note that by having two separate family groupings for the front and rear wheels you could also simulate slippage (different spin rates) between front and rear sets. This allows you to simulate different powertrain setups (fwd/rwd/awd.) Getting wheel speed and vehicle speed to synch is tricky, you could do it mathematically based on wheel circumference etc. - but trial and error should work just as well. Also note that it can be desirable at times to simulate slippage with either spinning or locked wheels. Hopefully that should help a little bit.

Thread: Question Re: Selecting Multiple..... | Forum: Bryce
You can control-shift select objects from the image itself. Dunno if that helps any, but you probably know that already. Sometimes these things just take a while.

I think the atmospheric world setting in the skylab handles that. However, be prepared for extremely long render times. I've played with it on relatively low settings, but if you crank it up... It seems like infinity. lol. L8R!

Thread: wings updated again ! | Forum: 3D Modeling
I wonder if they'll put something in that lets you move points to world coordinate positions by entering them numerically. Then I wouldn't have to jump back and forth between wings and Anim8or. Also it would be nice to have something that merges points or lines together if they overlap. (Yet another thing Anim8or helps with, heheh.) The current dissolve command still has some issues when trying to do that. Perhaps I should email them, huh?

Heheh... I dunno if it's coincidental, but the one in the back almost looks like the Lake County court building. The walkway is just a bit different and I think it's a few floors lower.

Thread: bryce animations ? | Forum: Bryce
Clay's animations are pretty cool. Dunno about the techno-tribal soundtrack though, it reminds me of something out of one of the "Mind's Eye" videos. Now if that could be produced in NTSC format... Definitely worth submitting to a show called EyeDrops on TechTV. Unfortunately my parents don't get that channel. L8R!
