Interesting that you should post this today... are you using my swing from the freebies section? If so, I'm having the same problem with it. As is it suits my need, but I'd like to be able to animate the swing motion. To do that, I need to move the origin to the top of the swing. I'm having exactly the same problem - when I move the origin, the whole prop moves with it. The prop was done in 3DS and I went back and changed the piviot point in the original without any change in the origin point in poser. I guess that means that the "origin" is not something inherent in a 3DS file. Anyway, if any of the more experienced prop builders can help, I will learn something which is apparently not covered in the manual! Thanks! Chris

Although the other images contain some wonderful detail, I too think that Rath has the moral contrast of war depicted wonderfully.

Here's my March contest entry. Thanks to everyone involved for the contest area. What a great way to push one's skills and imagination into new areas. Now that I've played with rain some, I must admit that I probably won't choose to do a lot of rainy scenes... The attached file is the thumbnail... larger image in the contest area.Thread: Rendering stays turned on | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Forgive me if this is too "basic" and if it is obviously not your problem, but it sounds to me that you have inadvertently clicked on the Texture Shaded control on the Document Display Style control (or hit Ctrl-9). The default in Poser is Smooth Shaded (Ctrl-8). Also, you may have changed from fast tracking to full tracking... If those things are too simple, again forgive, but sometimes the interface to Poser takes a while to learn...
Thread: forgive me for asking an age worn question...regarding copyright | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Interesting point, cas... I could understand your attorney's point of view for people who do also sell their work or profit in any way from computer graphics. In that case, it COULD be advertising and therefore commercial to post in the galleries, or anywhere else. I would differ with him when it came to people who only use poser and 3D graphics as a hobby and not for commercial gain at all. Their postings COULD NOT be considered advertisement for their services since they do not offer computer graphic services for profit. In that case their posts would only be exploring and sharing their personal hobby with others. As in all matters of the law, neither oppinion is any good unless tested by a court decision. He said he has a precident, but I bet it still doesn't encompass all of the potential issues here (like the one I raised). My impression of this community is that a lot of impressive sharing goes on here. Sharing of techniques and ideas which is very healthy. Lately there have been more and more discussions about copyrights, rights, ownership, etc. I certainly do think that people deserve credit for their work, but it would be a shame if people are driven away from sharing and colaborating because of this shift... Just my thoughts after a few months of watching and learning from you all.
Thread: Victoria with P4 clothing... | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Thanks for the tips all! I'm going to start with Polyette and see how that goes. I could probably play with the clothing directly, but for my project, Vicky's head is the main thing that I need. I do like her hand textures, but perhaps with some close attention to my Polyette texture I can replicate som of that... Thanks!
