Thread: Ahhh! new patch sucks!! | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Larry's version #116 rocked. Being able to save everything to the library was awesome. Warning: If you have patch #116. Don't delete it. You'll regret it. ScottA
Thread: Let's Try Again | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Are you putting a url in the upload image part of the form? If you are. Don't. Just click the browse button and find the picture on your hard drive and select it. Then submit your message. This forum software pulls the image right off your HD and you don't need to type in any html to do it. It's unusual to not have to type in a URL. But I like it. ScottA

Yes. You were definately right on target Allereirauh. I tried rendering with Anti-Aliasing and the other settings you suggested. But I got the same result. So I never messed with the shadow map setting. Thanks for your help. ScottA
Thread: Help Please | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Found It! The problem was a result of having three lights with shadow casting on. This is the default light set up when I open more than one figure. So I'm a litle peeved at Poser for putting me through this agony ;-). I almost deleted my figure out of frustration. I'm glad I didn't do that. This one should go into the vault Poser help people. Next time you see this question. Remember to tell them only one light should have shadow casting enabled. Don't you all love it when I post answers to my own questions here ;-). ScottA

First of all. Thanks for your help everyone. Secondly. I just found something very strange happening here. If I open any one single figure and render it. It looks fine. But If I open two figures and render. They both end up with these weird patches! Since the batman figure is a combination of two figures. I'm assuming that's why it looks like this. I'm using the latest patch #116. And I'll try removing it tomorrow to see if it solves this problem. But I haven't heard anyone else complain about this. Can someone who is using patch #116 do me a favor and try rendering two figures that are close to each other and let me know if you get the same problem? Thanks Again. ScottA iamsba@aol.com
Thread: This is weird. Nobody hasa Poser Batman? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Thanks guys. I found the one on the FS pages and it must be the mac only file because Poser wouldn't open it. Luckily I love to hack into the text files so I just removed all of that Japanese looking stuff from it and it works fine in my P.C. now. I'm combining it with the P4 head to be able to use all of those great morph targets. ScottA

That's my personal trick Anthony. If you want more info on it. You can e-mail me. And I'll try to answer any questions you have. Also. It's a lot easier to edit this stuff using the CR2Editor found in the FS Utilities section. ScottA iamsba@aol.com

Thanks. But I looked there as well as the comic collective and unless I missed it. There isn't one on any of those sites. That's seems weird. Not a single Batman amongst all of the lesser know characters. ScottA
Thread: Fixing Castle in Carrara? | Forum: Carrara
Pack. There is usually only one problem that causes that -4 error while importing .obj models with textures into RD. Open it with a text editor and I'll bet you'll see "UseMtls" near the beginning of it. That's what causes the -4 error. Just delete it. Then save the file as text. You can also run it through UVmapper and save it as a new name. UVmapper will remove that line of code for you automatically. / As for the grouping in Carrara. Open the castle file. Then go to the time line and find the castle model in the left yellow section. There should be an arrow to the left of the name. Just click on that arrow and the individual parts will drop down under it. Then you can click on a part in the assembly room and you should be able to edit it in the vertex modeler. Groups can't be edited in the vertex modeler. ScottA iamsba@aol.com
Thread: Orangutan's eye texture Problem... | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Yea. I figured people weren't deleting the old .rsr after they installed DD's original files. So I added one more line to the readme file specifying to make sure to delete it before installing my update. I thought it was clear enough in the first readme. But I guess it wasn't. ScottA

Hmm. I didn't include an .rsr for the geometries folder in the update. Only one for the libraries folder. But hey. The main thing is you got it working. Enjoy. ScottA
Thread: Problems with ScottA's Dedicated Digital Orangutan-fix | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Yup. If you don't want to mess with the folders or .CR2 file pointers. Just download the update again. And start from scratch. Delete all the files. install the Orang. to the folders specified by DD. Then replace the CR2 and .RSR files with the ones from the update. I did this myself to make sure it works. And it does. Sorry about the mix up. I always change the folders for figures to something simpler. And I forgot to set the update back to the default locations. ScottA
Thread: Orangutan's eye texture Problem... | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
The only advice I can give is to start over. Delete the files then re-install the Orangutan to the exact folders listed in DD's zip file. This will give you the black color for the eyes. Then go to the eyes in the materials menu and make the color white. And add the "Orangutan_eyes.jpg" texture to them. At this point you should now see the correct eye textures. Close Poser. Next: download the JP update again. I changed it to point at the default file locations. So don't use the one you got earlier. Then replace the .CR2 and .RSR files with the ones in the update. And restart Poser. You should now have the updated JP's as well as see the correct texture for the eyes. I just did this myself starting from scratch and it worked flawlessly. Hope that solves your problem. ScottA iamsba@aol.com

I didn't touch the textures or the geometry. But I had a similar problem with the eyes texture not showing up when I installed the files from DD's zip. I was doing other things as well so I'm not sure if this fixed it. But I ended up going into the materials menu and pointed each body part to the "orangutan.jpg" and the eyes to the "orangutan_eyes.jpg" ScottA
