To Goldvice: I have the Rhino Demo but can't find that PDF introduction anywhere. Where is it? Thanks.

Thanks for the tip, PJF. But I don't use Poser for scenes, either so PZ3 import is fine for me.

Thanks to everyone for all the tips and techniques, many I already knew about, some are new; I'll try 'em. Thanks also for proving my point.

To Prizm Break: Mine look much worse. Something's wrong. To PJF: 30 seconds is not enough to make me want to switch. See Prizm Break's pic? If that were mine, the skin would be about 50% darker and, after applying adequate lighting, the facial features (lips, eyebrows, tongue, teeth, eyelashes) would all be the same color as the skin. You would see their shape but not their correct colors. PS: No one has address the other subject in my first post... Is there any liason between Corel & Curious Labs? Is there going to be any improvement in communications between the two programs? If not, why not?

To DigitalArtist: I'm looking at my Poser version 1 box right now and it says Fractal Design on it. To All: I think I might have been misunderstood. I wasn't knocking Bryce or hyping Vue. I merely stated that Bryce4 screws up my Poser figures--especially the faces. For example: I just now imported a Michael pose into Bryce. His eyebrows and eyes turned pure white. With regular P4 figures, all facial features turn the same color as the skin, no matter what I do with the lighting. Like I said, I'd like to stick with Bryce. But logically, why would I pay $150 to upgrade and get a few new features on a program I already have--but that doesn't fix my problem--when I can pay $50 more and get a whole new program that does fixe the problem?

To ghostofmacbeth and prism break: I thought it was an accepted fact that importing Poser figures to Bryce doesn't work all that well. That's why there are tutorials on how to do it. Anywho, when I import a perfectly good Poser figure into Bryce, it turns to sh*t. All facial features (lips, eyebrows, teeth, etc) turn the same color as the skin. And the figure over all is very dark. I know that some of this stuff can be fixed with tweaking, but I don't wanna. I'm in a hurry and I'm lazy. If Vue can import without hassle and Bryce 5 can't, I'm going with Vue.

I would like to stick with Bryce but if they don't improve Poser imports, I'm switching to Vue 4. Speaking of which, why hasn't there been any mention of the Bryce team working (or not working) with Curious Labs? It would seem most natural for them to be able to share files since they both came from the same company.

I've just started importing Poser figures to Bryce. In fact I came to this forum just now to ask a question about it. Anyway, it's real easy to export from Poser (.obj) then import to Bryce. Everything comes through fine if all the textures are brought with the figure. If not, Bryce will stop and ask you to locate each and every texture assigned to your obj file. But there's one problem I'm having: Although the figures render fine in Poser, they are extremely dark and lose differences in texture shading when imported into Bryce. I imported three ladies, each with different skin tones, into an outdoor scene in Bryce. It's a sunny day with nothing in the scene to cast a shadow. Yet the figures are very dark, their skin tones have changed (they all look alike now), and they have shadows cast all over them in no-descernable pattern. Other than that, it works fine. If anyone can solve this problem, please post! Thanks.

Unless your buddy is a genius, it'll never look right using Poser. Trust me, the paste-over method in Pshop isn't that hard. I've done it at least a half-dozen times. It's easy to find pics of topless females on the web. Search for "porn" or "adult" and you'll find thousands of 'em. Look for free sites or ones that will give you a "tour." Then d/l ladies whose head tilts & elevations closely match yours. If you have a news reader you can also cruise news groups that have 'sex' or 'binaries' in their titles.
