FIrefox mostly. Can use IE

Intended the above as straightforward matter-of-fact, as I am cleaning up some purchases earlier in the week, but it came out a bit harsher.

It's not that I don't like it; it's fine and is usually attractive. It's the prevalence - the 'done to death' part that is what makes me notice it on V4. There's a point where if you have more than one character and the vendors like same lips, then the faces start looking alike because the feature is distinctive.  There must be other ways to get that attractiveness, not just the one, but the V4 character seems to be set to make that one easier.

I also got a kick out of Sam Therapy's comments about 'smacked in the face lips.'

Everytime I see a V4 Character like that I am reminded about a funny Robin Williams comment/mimic about Angelina Jolie (sorry Angela).  Something to the effect that the lips look like someone always sucking on a glass fish tank.

But I thought I was the only one noticing that.

I started with V4,and have found many good things with V3. I like and dislike them both for different reasons.

If they were doing a V5, rather than spend time with what I feel are silly things like a male body morph, I'd like to see easier ways to change the V5 to match the variety of real people proportions. Longer/shorter hips, hands, abdomen/chest.  With V4 there seem to be many ways to modify the breasts, but in comparison not so much with the overall body.

For instance, if you go to a photograph of a beauty contest line up, can you easily re-create/mimic the body styles you would see?  Then can you clothe those changes? Not really right now. But  I'd like to see more thought given for ways to do that.

What about the genres of body types (pear-shaped, etc [just selecting one terminology that I can think of there are others along this line]).

Also if sites are starting to think about physically manufacturing the creative designs that many artists come up with, there should be a start towards making characters somehow compatible with real clothing size, shoe size, hat size fits (size 7, 8, 10, etc).

I think there is a real possibility that fashion design can be done in the future on a regular basis with these types of characters.

Also, If they were doing a V5, I 'd like to agree with Wm_the_bloody [nice avatar pic, tough name!] above. Easier posing. And also body morph packages that somehow make some real-world sense.

I voted "no" with explanation, but I am using Firefox, and the pol question at the bottom wasn't there. It wasn't a matter of misreading.

Nowhere else does it say that Renderosity is adding the *.exe option, and keeping zip.

I would have changed my vote, but I will still probably opt for zip.

Exe's are faster, but I get concerned about everytime MSFT upgrades windows whether they change something and then the exe won't work. With a zip there are enough other vendors that I feel I will be able to unzip files no matter what. Also I like being able to preview readme's and contents.

I am not quite sure of what you mean via links. If you mean what I think you mean, you get the index.php and all the nonsense that goes with only one of the big images. Then you have to sort that out, get the big image and do it all over again. Each time you do the link it saves it as the same name, index.php,so you can't just crank through them.  You have spend the time to rename them or delete them after getting the one image.

If you mean just saving the links for the future reference, I have one thing to say: Future=404.

As it was it took 10-20min per model. This probably triples or quadruples the time.

I see no advantage to this new method for the buyer. As I said, I have seen other sites use it, and I purchase far less from them than I do on Renderosity. I don't care for it, and on a practical level if I can't get the complete model and supporting information easily, I'll just tend to pass up on the purchases more often.

I should add that I probably will be far less likely to buy products if I don't have a relatively easy way of indexing them.  

If I have to spend an hour per product at Renderosity getting the supporting information vs 15-20 min at Daz, I have to factor that hour into the cost of buying my model.

I don't care for this new photo method either.  I have seen the trick used elsewhere on other sites and it is annoying. Sorry that Renderosity has chosen to follow this.

But it is still nowhere as bad as what happened at Content Paradise. That site is just not fun to spend any time on.

One of my objections is practical.  When I buy3D models in the renderosity store, and elsewhere, I have been right clicking on the images and downloading the promos and info so that I have a catalog always going forward of what I have purchased.  I title them with my own keywords. I really can't do that with this new method.

I'm not sure how other people solve the problem of having 3D models on the disk with no other identifying information other than the zip file.

If Renderosity wanted to help, they could give me and easy way to get a summary sheet & Photos with all the vendor comments (For A3? V3? V4?  What promos did you use for the hair? Shoes? Clothes? etc. Anything else that goes along with it?).   That would make be feel much better.

It must have been a side bar I hit that brought it up - because I knew it was virtually the first thing I saw on the home page, and that's what confused me with the Ghouls onge Wild.

I thought I had hit this through the Renderosity home page - when I entered and came across something along the Ghouls Gone Wild (Great promotion, by the way) or one or two absent minded clicks away. Maybe a click on the side bar brought it up?? It wasn't in any of the vendor specifics. There was a whole listing of items that you could choose from.

Someone out there tell me I'n not going Crazy or imaigining things! I can't be the only one to have seen this...

I wish now I had taken a sceren capture.

I will certainly contact the vendor... if only for sanity of mind!

Just checking the thread. Glad to see problem solved!

I have a different problem.  I have one cent I can' t use. 

When sites like Renderosity (and many others) won't allow you to combine gift certificates, there is an extra 1cent ot 4 cents or 7 cents etc.  that eventually return to the Visa or Mastercard issuers. The cards are designed to scoop up this free money that the cardholders can't use. Uortunately most vendors don't see the opportunity.

Daz is good about this. I just wish Renderosity would to the same. I'd be more willling to put money into gift certificates here if they would roll over into one continual store credit so I'm not making charitable donations (a-la-Eddie Murphy) to the banks.

That being said, I'm going to be out for most of the day, but if when I get back later in the evening, and you haven't solved the problem let me know and we can connect via email - (or I can deal through the Renderosity rep.)
