I'm a Mac user and i'm not pissed, i can run windows just as well on my Mac.LOL
This means we poor Mac users can use any software out there if the need be.Ron
Same here. I can run AutoCAD 2008 AEC (which is absolutely finicky!) on the Windows side without any problems, so those worried about how well the Macbook Pro (Mine's been called the 'lunch tray' because of its 17" screen) actually handles Windows XP can have a baseline. And that's using Mac OSX 'Bootcamp' But I only use the Windows side for those programs that don't have a Mac version. (a lot of Poser Utilities for example)
I've come a long way from a Kaypro IV, (which used C/PM)
Just use what you are comfortable using.

Thread: Skin and Poser Imports | Forum: Vue
While you're waiting to buy Skinvue, try Silverblade33's tutorial on importing Poser figures which goes into pretty good depth in correcting poser skin in Vue.
Another great tutorial on poser figures in Vue is "Demystifying Vue 5's Function Editor" Which was written by dburdick, creator of Skinvue. Creating skin is towards the end, but wholly satisfying once you figure it out.

Thread: Poser prop hair import woes | Forum: Vue
I'm not using the default runtime for any of my poser 6 stuff. Everything is on a seperate drive, but under one rather large runtime folder: models, props, etc. (Gotta keep my limited space harddrive on my Macbook Pro as free as possible) but I still haven't run into the problem of hair and props not importing correctly.

Quote - I cannot export, I get a lockup or crash everytime. No idea why.
You running the latest version of Ivy Generator? Version 1.3? I had similar problems with the previous version, but it works fine for me now. (But I'm using a Mac.)

I, for one am grateful that it is free! Fits my budget nicely! Since it is free, it does have its idiosyncrasies, but once you learn how it works, its relatively effortless. The video tutorial really does show more than the users guide. For a free program, it does a remarkably good job. The gallery at the website is well worth the visit. And they have added a bonus texture pack for other Ivy leaves.
Do I wish it was easier to use? Absolutely:

If someone were to come out with a better version, I bet they'd get rich quick selling it for $50 - I know the free one is, well, FREE, but it's VERY limited.-Lew ;-)

Have you tried 'painting' the eco system?
What scale is your eco system set to? On occasion I've had to resize (larger or smaller) each of the eco system items to get them to work. Don't know why, but its helped in a few instances.

Thread: Vue 6 - Satisfaction - Informal Poll | Forum: Vue
Just a note from a Mac user. I'm using a Mac Book Pro with only a meager 1GB Ram, and Vue handles it pretty well, so long as file size is kept to reasonable levels. With a recent posting on a tutorial about importing Poser content from Silverblade33, and getting a handle on controlling the materials, I've found the results surprisingly good. What was once a 1GB file has been reduced considerably, and I can actually do things like change a texture without having it crash when I go to save the file. (This scene has 12 poser figures, all fully dressed, fancy hair, and lots of props with their associated materials.)
May not be a speed demon, but it does what I want it to do, and may take its time rendering, but the end result is always worth the wait.
But getting back to the original question: Vue 6 Infinite is well worth the wait. It may not do everything I would like it to do (i.e. the ever infamous 'Make Art' button) but it does do many things really well, and its handling of Poser is leaps ahead of its 5 ancestor (when I had to export Obj from Poser to import (without textures) into Vue 5)

Thread: Poser prop hair import woes | Forum: Vue
I've not had a problem with importing poser props or hair of any kind, in Vue 5, and Vue 6. You using the latest patch? (All my Vue renders use poser figures, and the only trouble I've had is with Dynamic hair and props.)

Thread: Tutorial #18, optimizing poser Imports :) | Forum: Vue
Silverblade33: The tips you provided in the tutorial really do save system resources. In the image I'm working on, the majority of the figures were in the middle to far distant background. (instead of reducing the image size in Poser, I'm doing it in Vue. A little slower perhaps, but its working) I did try reducing the number of polygons per figure at one time, but with little effect on the overall file size. Now that I know that its the image map that's causing the problem, (how did I miss that?) I can do something about it. For these distant figures, the bump map would be unimportant, as you would not be able to discern details anyway.
SkinVue: Oops, should have written you as dburdick.
