I would recommend more. I have a rtx 2070 max q 8gb. For me that's more than enough, I render 8k maps, fibermeshes, displacement maps and normal maps all 8k. Use dforce and I am very happy. In the future I will upgrade if necessary. But for now I am set for a long while. 4gb is not that much, als do depended if the card uses turing or Volta techniques. Personally I would go for an more up to date card if that's in your budget. Or find an alternative card from a year or 2 prior with more vram.

This render is done on the 2gb gpu.
Peach fuzz and fiber brows , unfortunately I couldnt add fibers to the cloth, the 2 gb were already used.

Yes that is true, however before this one I had a 2gb gpu card and could render the same only 4k maps. It is very important to have true bpr materials and maps in order to have the render engine render it properly and quick.

I have a 32 gb ram and 8 gb gpu, 2070 max q card. I render texture maps up to 8k, multiple with fibermesh hair, peach fuzz and clothing. And all works just fine. Rendering doesn't take too long and no choking.

ok. I think the weightmap is not set right, and therefore too lose around the leg. I think you used the automatic rigging feature so you have to adjust the weightmap by hand.

Wow Liquid - your renders look photorealistic. the jumper in the firs tone looks completely real even without that fuzz. that is the most realistic 3d render i have EVER seen!
Great work! Love esther
Esther thank you, I used wilmap's clothing for this one and a simple hdri. i need to change the shaders for I dont really like them.. All i did was changing the texture and a normal map for the feel of a jumper( it is actually a sweater if im not mistaken lol)
