Thanks for the offer. I re-read your tutorial and tried the approach in a pz2 file and directly in a pz3 file also. I have not had much luck. No errors, but the eyeballs keep moving when I apply a pose from the library. I using V4 and I am injecting the morph as an obj.
The text I put in to the pz3 looked like this (under actor leye):

The answers to your questions

I don't always set the Raquel morph to 1, so maybe that's some of the problem too.
I appreciate any help you can provide.

Okay, I'll try these all these suggestions.
lesbentley,
I had tried to follow your ERC tutorial the other day, but it's a little beyonfd me right now. I appreciate the simplier idea you suggested too.
Thanks guys for the help.

Thread: V4 face | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I think it's worth while to take a look in the Gallery under Poser / Portraits (or elsewhere) to see what people have done with V4. I was initially disappointed too, but have found that she has largely replaced V3 now for most of my renders. Someone asked a question in a previous post about V4's face and what I recall saying was to look thru the DAZ 3D and Renderosity products and find one or two good faces/characters to purchase. If you find one or two you like, you can start your changes from there with her built-in morphs. I think there's one or two good free ones two. Look thru the items on sale, and there should be a few goods ones to start with. I always try to purchase the ones that are not just dial manipulations but actual unique characters. I come back to DM's Luciana a lot. That's the one that showed me you could get a good face from V4 (look at the ad under Land of Sorrow).** **I'm still hoping we will get more facial morphs from a talented vendor someday. There are the RDNA face morph collections too.
Good Luck

Is there any reason we can't post our entry from the contest into our gallery? I think there was some rule about Renderosity perhaps using the pictures for their own purposes. Can JenX or someone in authority comment?
Thanks
Thread: Quad Processor Hangs on P7 Render? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I thought before people became too disenchanted with the thought of updating to a PC based Intel Quad Processor, I should give an update on my testing. Again, I'm updating from a Pentium 4 processor to a Q6600. Both PC's have 2 Gb of Ram and equally free HD space. I'm using XP on both and running P7. I did some comparisons of physical run time (how long I sat there watching the image render) for an identical scene. Consequently, I would consider these to be observations rather than hard numbers. I noted a few things.
The Quad Processor did better using Poser as the render software then switching to the "separate process" and using FFRENDER. This surprised me and may have lead to some of my early concerns about speed. On my Pentium 4 I had trouble rendering without using FFRENDER.
After a little tweaking, the Quad Processor is about 4 times faster than my Pentium 4 for renders most of the time. My test renders are: Raytracing on, Shadows on, Some ambient occlusion, Single bald V4 with 3D background, various shader node set-ups, etc. This reduction is pretty dramatic, and I am pleased with this aspect of the new purchase; however,
Both machines bog down when I put hair on V4, to the point where the time difference in renders is about 20%. I need to work this some more.
Anyway, again these are just my latest observations. They differ a little from what I put in my first post. I didn't purchase this PC just for Poser, so in that regard, change was necessary anyway. I also got about $500 off the retail price (~25%) from Dell which sweetened the deal. Some people can build their own PC and save money that way, but I'm not one of them. I would suggest people looking into updating to a new computer, do a search thru this forum using the words "Q6600" and "Poser" and reading those links in addition to what is said here. It seems there are a number of PC Quad Processor owners who are elated with their purchases, swear by the Quad Processors (not at them), and have had better experiences than mine have been to date. I'm happier now than I was, but need to work this a little more.
Thanks as always

Thread: Poser 7 and 512MByte RAM | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I don't know about VUE, but I use Poser 7 with 2 Gb of RAM. That seems to handle two V4's in a scene with a background pretty well. I watch the system resources during my test renders, and I seem to be around 1 to 1.5 Gb during that period. I would think more RAM would help you significantly. By the way, both Best Buy and Circuit City have their more popular RAM on sale this week for about 1/2 price.

Thread: Your opinion counts - Favorite Figure Model for Poser? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
vorpalbunny,
I have the RDNA morphs, but don't use them that much, at least not at a setting of 1.00 (maybe 0.1 of this and 0.23 of that). I think they just came out with a new set, and I have not gotten those yet but probably will. I have tried mixing the settings before and that was interesting. You might be happy with trying that. The package that really excited me about V4's face was DM's Luciana. I seem to start with those settings more often than not and then start spinning the dials. Marvy by Damsel is also an interesting face for sale in the marketplace. The only unique morphs I've made myself are some chin morphs as the V4 ones seemed too simple. I'd try to grab as many free morphs and faces as you can find, and when you see one that looks reasonable, start from there. I also like (in P7 at least) that you can save a full face morph to the figure you're working on. I've built a sort of "Master V4" that way and always start a new figure from my last one with all my old faces saved in it as morph dials. Sometimes mixing those give interesting results.
Thanks

Thread: Trying to get hair textures to load in Poser 7 | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Hello,
I've had a similar problem. I tried to change a hair color texture and I kept clicking on the "pose icon" do this and nothing happened. Make sure that you have selected the figure that the hair is attached or conformed to. In the preview window, this must be the figure name displayed in the upper left corner. To the right of this, select the hair under PROPS. Then do the change. Sometimes the hair can be selected, but if the figure selected is not the one the hair is attached to, nothing happens.
Hope that helps.
Thread: Poser 7 Freezing | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Hello,
This may be a strange coincidence but typically when Poser 7 crashes on me, it at this same time Circumvent said it freezes on him. I crash about once every 50 renders and almost always immediately after the render is complete. I see the completed render, then BAM, Poser's gone. It has always been this way for me, and not some recent occurrence because something changed. Raytracing on or off, doesn't matter. Different figures and textures, doesn't matter. I'm using Poser 7 under Windows XP Pro. I turn my Norton protection software off when I render. Everything is updated to the latest version (I think).

Oh yes, That looks quite good. Is that V3 or are you still using V4? I like the skin and hair. That looks like "Freckles" for sure. Is the skin and hair commercially available? The hair is quite nice.

Mine was V3 with all the face morphs I could get from Daz, and a few I made, with some magnets thrown in. I couldn't tell if I captured her well or not, so I walked away from her for awhile. Since the show ended for the year, I thought I'd post a shot. I'm still experimenting with V4, so your model looks far beyond my ability with her.
