Nice work, UHF! :)
Hey, if you want to make your link work like a link, after you paste it in the text box, highlight it and click the chain button on top (on the left of the broken chain) and paste the link in the url section.
Firefox users, Renderosity hindered us to be able to right click/copy and paste (and other functions) in their forums script, so to copy something here, highlight and hold down the CTRL key and hit "C", but to paste it, hold the CTRL key and hit "V". If there's a non-working link (such as UHF's), highlight it, right click, and select the appropriate selection you want, to go to the url.
Don't know anything about IE though.

Give 'em time, they'll fix it I'm sure. This is why I don't buy new programs at realase dates, or do beta testings, as these are the ones with more bugs.
Daz forums are brand new, lots of new stuff and lots and lots of bugs they have to sort out. Because they didn't hire on a web site programer/business to do the work, they're stuck with things they probably don't know how to fix. I'm sure, that, if worse comes to worse, they'll finally decide to hire someone who know's what he/she's doing.
But all in all, everything's new, so give it time. Mean while, visit people who are banned from there, got a great thread going on here too :) Like I said, Daz isn't the only forums to visit. I'm glad Pret-a-3D came here! :) And we need more traffic here so I too can ask questions or help lol.

Quote - Just went to peek at the Daz Reality thread. Down for maintenance, again.
I literally felt my head and shoulders drop in futility...
But Daz3D isn't the only forums around... ;) We have a thread here too :)

Quote - I agree I put you on watch I know I am not the best far from it but am finding a way to meet my needs. I have close to 3000 renders LOL. 5 long land of the giants episode ( My own guilty pleasure and why I got into 3deeing in the 1st place) and a gallery of paid works for others which is all based on size related subject matter. Its not for everybody, I get that. We all do it for different reasons. I just find I get some results with LUX that i cannot produce in 3Dlight. Having said that I feel I have had a lot of success with UE which gave me the experience to use LUX. I had tried Reality when it 1st came out and had returned it, most likely due to lack of experience on my part. You are right though not everything plays nice in LUX PS is your friend...
lol... had to search my new messages at DA, you have a different name but I found you :) Added you as well, friend :)
Totally agree with ya, friend, we all have different styles. What I appreciate more then just styles is quality. I've seen a lot of art in my styles but they're aweful 'cause of the quality. I see a lot of sci-fi & fantasy styles (which I don't care for) but appreciate them 'cause of the quality work :) And I appreciate your quality work as well, friend :)

Timberwolf, your image was very nice, very good setup, friend!
Bob, your image is nice too, good setup.
Actually, Bob, your renders here do look good, I forgot how they look in the RRN thread before you went to Reality/Lux, but I never was interested in those extreme different human sizes style so always ignored them (being honest). Your last image and the images I've seen from you here do look good indeed as far as natural lighting and surfaces setups, just not my style that's all.
I really intended all that explanation for everyone, not anyone particular. It was mentioned 'cause you mentioned that you couldn't get the 3Delight renders to look good so you went to Lux, and then don't want to go back 'cause of the "odd" lighting. If you look at my renders at DA, you'll see what I mean by "experience" setups of lights/surfaces, as apposed to a lot of bad setups and very ugly renders I've seen produced by DS users, even Reality/Lux users. Here's my DA page http://jamminwolfie.deviantart.com/ And my basic concept here is that if you want to produce nice art, you have to become an actual artist (like you, when you set up everything to look good via lights/surfaces, which your images do look good). You can't just throw things in and expect a "Make art" button, especially in DS since most DS mats still aren't up to par in the marketplace (any marketplace, even Daz3D).

Quote - Ha that splains it. I am a pretty simple user I dont tinker with maps. I just mostly adjust materials there is stuff that renders in LUX that I cannot get in 3Delighting, having said that I also have no quams going back to DS lighting for the odd renders. If you go back a bit I posted some renders of my main character in a futuristic appt. The main pic was done in LUX but the exterior was done with DS3 & LDP2 10 minutes is hard to beat LOL!
I posted many pics when Rogerbee was running it until DAZ borked their site and for what I am reading the new version of Studio. Again (Psssssst puff of weed)....
Maps? Never said anything about maps.
Think I'm being a little "off topic", but, just wanted to say a few things...
Because I rolled up my sleves and learned the lights and surfaces, as well as other aspect in DS, I still feel that the renders I produce are good renders, and like I said before I went to Reality/Lux, I won't forsake 3Delight and all that experience I gained, so it's still fun to go back. I don't use cheat maps or what nots to get results, I use common knowledge, common sense, and then experience with DS lights/surfaces.
LDP2, never did like it. It produces "ok" renders (if your surfaces were set up right), but you just can't get a more true & natural looking render unless you use occlusion shading and true "environment" brightness, which is done with UberEnvironment... with raytraced shadows applied to any and all DS lights you load (no shadowless lights). Using many lights with shadow maps, and then shadowless lights, just doesn't do it, as you almost always see unnatural lights seeping under things where it's not supposed to be, and deep shadow maps create more "dirty" looking spots then actual shadows in my opinion. I'm not talking about bad render settings where you see tiny spots, I'm talking about it just lays a bunch of grey areas around the render and just look like smudged dirt instead of shadows. And then, you have no choice but to use a minimum of 16 lights, with takes forever waiting for deep shadow maps to create. For about the same time, using UberEnvironment (if you know your setups) with an added default light or two with raytraced shadows applied (again with a good setup) gives you a lot better results.
Reality/Lux is a whole different bag, but you still gotta learn what to do to get the best results. If you learn the trick of the trade here, you can really produce "photo quality", realistic renders (and I'm not there just yet lol). I've seen a lot of people just slap together things and expect Reality to fix all the surfaces to be perfect, and then produce something I can easily produce in 3Delight with bad lights and surfaces. And again I've seen a lot of images that actually look like it came from the camera. Reality is great for assuming most surfaces (still not all though), but the surfaces need to be set up in DS first, Poser mat/settings stilll look aweful even in Lux, depending on a lot of things, still no "make art" button there.
So, all in all, the main thing is you gotta know what you're doing before actually making good quality art lol.
I'm kinda curious if Rogerbee is gonna start another "Realistic Renders... NOT!!!" thread. If I go back there, I might do it myself.

Hey buddy!! Thanks for the comment, and your image looks good too! :) Yep, that is me, jamminwolf at Daz3D, the wolfie who started that thread! I was a hard nose against realistic renders 'cause of not being able to afford or run high programs such as Reality/Luxrender, Vue, and all the other high dollar programs (Reality's very cheap compared to them). There was a "Realistic Renders" thread that started way before Pret-a-3D and Reality came in the picture, and I as well as others wanted a place to post non-realistic renders :) Still can't believe how many times that thread started (number 10 was my "goodbye" thread since I was banned and I gave it to Rogerbee).
