Thread: Any suggestions for Poser tools? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
yeah a tool which you can select library files and move or delete them along with all of the supporting files would be extremely useful. I too would add my vote to a two pane PFE, yes I can open up two versions but its much more conveniant to have two panes side by side in the same window as I dont have to move and adjust the two copies each time I open the software, and I use a two pane view so much that I tend to use cr2 builder more than your excellent product even though I like your features a lot more.

I wasnt meaning for you to dial all of the morphs in at one time just the same morph in all the bodyparts before selecting create full body morph then zero and start with another one. its not the fastest process but its the way that Content creators did it for years before new external tools became availible(Some still do it the old fashion way, loading each morph into each bodypart one at a time then creating the FBM).
Thread: Should Poser be started with a drawing? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I find that doing sketch thumbnails allows me to plan my images much faster, and create more realistic and less stiff poses, its much easier to see how positive and negitive space works together with a thumbnail. plus I can do it anywhere, sketch out the concept, so I don't forget it later, its a lot harder to do that directly in poser unless you want to carry a laptop around with you and fire it up every time you have an idea. I dont often do detailed sketches, more often they are simply blocked in shapes which give the overall gist of the idea.
Thread: V4 nolonger will nolonger load in P7 | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
actually the V4.1 morph files dont really have to be installed in the main P7 Runtime, you can change the file search preference in Poser 7 to shallow and she should load just as well from an external runtime.

you mean it didnt create a master dial in the body? you can do this easily in Poser. dial the bodypart dials to 1 than go into Figure -Create full body morph, this will create your full body morph dial as well as linking the bodypart morphs to it.
Thread: Best (affordable) 3D modeler? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
sorry when I wrote "I wouldnt use hexagon to build a Car, or any kind of machine" I of course meant ZBrush.

I highly recommend both C4D and Modo. if you max out at under 1000 I would give Modo the edge becouse it has a really nice renderer that comes with it. Modo is an amazingly flexible modeler with high precision and extremely customizable tools. one thing about that though is more flexibility means more complex to learn all the ins and outs. getting the basics doesnt take lots of time, but really being able to take advantage of how flexible its tools can be can take quite a while. its got great uv mapping tools, and includes 3D paint tools and 3D sculpting tools. (though those tools tend to be limited by how good your graphics card is). and it preserves all .obj grouping. Cinema 4D is fast, easy to learn and use, and now comes stock with the probably the best 3d paint software on the market Bodypaint 3D. I do highly recommend using spankies free Riptide plugin with C4D becouse C4D's stock importer exporter does not preserve both material and bodypart grouping, also you can get point order issues when importing with the stock importer which would cause issues with morph creation. Really there is no reason not to use Riptide, just use it as a replacement for the stock importer exporter, thats what I do. C4D does not have any true displacement sculpting tools yet though, and to get all the features of C4D such as dynamics and strand based hair and the advanced renderer you have to purchase either a package or fairly expensive modules. I dont recommend Rhino, its more of a nurbs modeler which doesnt offer really clean meshes or easy ways of reducing polycounts. Hexagon is a solid easy to use modeler has one major drawback in my book, the lack of group support, so grouping needs to be done outside of hexagon. otherwise I would use hexagon more as I find it quite quick to build meshes in. Zbrush is an amazing tool with a frustratingly non standard interface. its not really a true modeler though you certainly can build really nice models in it. the reason I say its not really a true modeler becouse it doesnt have the many basic modeling tools it takes to build anything you can think of, like I wouldnt use hexagon to build a Car, or any kind of machine, it just doesnt have the basic tools for that. though the tools it does have are mindboggling. I tried Silo a while back, it seems to be a very capable modeler with a few really stand out tools, but it wasn't polished enough for me at the time. occasionally spitting out .obj files with strange defects though I have been told that it has overcome that problem.
Thread: Why when i create a Fullbody morph, dial only changes face? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Phil those breast controls you are talking about I assume are the breast movement dials, which are not actually morphs but magnet controllers, you dont have to worry about those becouse they get appplied to the clothing with the v4 magnetize poses.
Thread: V4.1 and WW2 | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
all of V4's morphs even the default ones use a readscript to load them when the figure loads, so they aren't actually contained within the cr2. so the only way to use the figure morphs in a seperate program that doesnt recognize readscript lines is to resave as a new figure, at this point Poser will load all the morphs as Default morphs within the cr2, as long as you dont have use external binary morphs set in your prefrences. as far as the reasons that using external runtimes slows V4's loading down is that Poser up to version six uses a deep file search by default for some reason, so it starts looking in the default runtime first everytime it comes across an external file refrence and only then start searching every other runtime connected to Poser, P7 has the option of using Shallow file search, which basicly tells it only to look in the same runtime that the cr2 is loaded from, with this set you can put V4 in any runtime you want and it will work fine.
Thread: Why when i create a Fullbody morph, dial only changes face? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
as I recall Before P7 Poser ignored Full body morph dials in the body and only picked up the individual bodypart morphs(V4 was created with a little trick to get around that problem and will save full body morphs in a pose file in any version of Poser), P7 rectified that and now will recognize the full body morphs. but in the past the only way to save a full body morph in most figures was to resave the figure with morphs, then use something like the free MatPoseEdit to extract the Mor Pose.
Thread: Collada TO Poser / Daz Studio? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I agree with you on the viablility of selling to the studio customer base, Dispite what Gareee says, I have never found Studio users any less willing to buy new content than Poser users but frankly marketing to only that market would be like saying you would only sell cars to one sex, why limit yourself if you don't have to. Yes the modeling and rigging is not a real issue as that hasn't changed appreciably since ProPack, but the relevant issue when you are talking about Poser 4 propack vs newer versions is Materials, and Firefly pure and simple, while firefly may not be important to you, the fact that to get the best results out of it you need current material presets and can create those only with Poser 5 and up, and to simplify Material creation you should use Poser 6 as it is the first version of Poser which actually can create a complete multi material group material preset directly in Poser, without file editing. yes if all you are interested in doing is freebies than you can skate by with propack, but understand the limitations of making that choice.
Thread: Sydney's Head morph??? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
ok I think you are confusing a few things and its not really clear what you are trying to do. Morphs are totally different things than textures. what you are showing there is a UV map, and it looks like you are trying to create a new uv map for sydney's head, I wouldnt do this, instead you should be painting your texture on the existing UVs that Sydney already has, there is no need to remap.
Thread: Is poser your hobby or your job? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Job, I actually eek out an ok living creating content, but it takes long hours of work to do so thats for sure, if I divided up my income, by an actual hourly rate It would probably make me want to go out and get a regular job again. Its the fact that I can create whatever comes into my head and so far people actually seem willing to pay for my work for the most part, that makes me stay in it.
Thread: Woeful Instructions and Lack of Morphs...Poser addons | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
While I agree, and personally always provide the major full body morphs in my clothing, I can understand why some don't. Morph creation, testing, and tweeking can litterally take more time than development of the base package. So some merchants just don't feel that their sales justify the manhours that go into this addition. they look at the galleries and see very little use of anything but the breast morphs so what morphs do you think they will support? I suspect that if those who do use those morphs actually sent a PM or email to the merchant when they passed up buying a product from them due simply to lack of morph support, they would see the true numbers of sales they are loosing, and things might change. unfortunately a thread in the forums doesnt have that kind of impact, though of course it is a step in the right direction. I don't worry too much about morphs when I buy a product these days, If I really like a package I will buy it, even if it doesnt have the morphs, I dont mind adding them myself using one of the netherworks or lyrra magnet kits, but I have my own personal pet peave with content, which keeps me from buying products, Lack of DAZ Studio material presets. Since I do most of my rendering in Studio these days, if I see no Studio support in a product I will most likey not purchase it. And yes I have told some merchants that I didn't buy their packages for that specific reason.
