Subject: Need to ask about transferring V4 morphs to cloth --or I'll go mad!!!!......

panko ( ) posted Sun, 02 December 2007 at 10:33 AM ยท edited Wed, 15 January 2025 at 11:38 AM

OK, here it is. I decided to make some simple clothing for my promo pictures... All went well until I tried to transfer V4 FBMs to the cloth...(a TShirt) using Morph Magic. The morphs did transfer, but on the chest and abdomen, not on the Body part! Arrrgh! Is there any charitable soul among you dear comrades who has an idea/suggestion on how should I go about this? Please?.... Why life has to be so difficult at times???!!! Panos

you mean it didnt create a master dial in the body? you can do this easily in Poser. dial the bodypart dials to 1 than go into Figure -Create full body morph, this will create your full body morph dial as well as linking the bodypart morphs to it.

wdupre, this method creates one dial with all morphs packed together. Alas, it isn't what I am trying to achieve. The idea is to have a separate dial for each FBM, affecting the entire body, placed where it should be: on the Body part. I used Morph Magic to do this with other figures (V3, M3) --and it works fine. It's with V4 that I can't get it to behave... :) Panos

Hi Panko,

I have morph magic and I can use it for V4,ย  This is how I do it:

I load V4.1 in poser and save it with another name in the same directory, let's say V4+morphs.
Be sure not to use external binary morph targets (in poser 7, preferences, I haven't used this method in poser 6)
Load in morph magic the V4+morphs.cr2 as Figure, load your cloth and transfer the morphs to it. ( I check FBMs and combine GMs
ย When the morphs are transferred you can save your cloth.
I only use FBM and PBM morphs, because I don't know if the other morphs will work. V4 is a very complex and nasty piece of figure with morphs, magnets, external python routines and what's more, but these FBM and PBM morphs work as far as I know.

You can also use the new upgrade of Wardrobe wizard 2 to save morph targets in your cloths, works very well, but there are some troubles with V4-morphing (again) but Phil and Kamilche are working on a fix and a update.

Good luck,

Bopperthijs

Yep should be ready soon. Wardrobe Wizard recognizes full body morphs, the issue with V4 is in the way she has been set up. What looks like a full body morph to the user is not always in fact a "true" full body morph to Poser. The update will have a simple one button click so that the user does not need to worry about it. The functionality is in fact already in Wardrobe Wizard however we accept that users are not immediately understanding it. Hence the minor reorganization of the tools to give a one button click solution.

Bopperthijs, I just tried it. No luck... It still places the FBMs on the chest and abdomen parts, but not on the body.... Well, it's probably one of these days.... :( Panos

Is the cr2 file of your cloth allright? I've been working with MM all night and had no problems so far.

The cloth file is fine so far as I can judge. It has been conformed already and works well... just the bleeding morphs... :) Panos

Well, I'm afraid I ran out of options, perhaps tomorrow is a better day.

Perhaps if MM makes the PBM-morphs in the bodyparts, you can make the FBM in poser, maybe a lot of work but it works.

Good luck,

Bopper

hmmm, a strange thing happened. Usually I import the mesh, conform it, then edit the CR2 to remove unneeded body parts and materials and finally run it through MM to get the morphs. This method works fine with M3 and V3 but apparently not with V4. This time I ran the cloth through MM immediately after conforming and voila! the FBMs appeared in the Body part! Trouble with this is that now I need to remove the non usable morphs manually!.... Well, you can't have everything!... lol (Did I mention that I dislike V4 immensely?.... :) Thank you for your help Bopper, Panos

I wasnt meaning for you to dial all of the morphs in at one time just the same morph in all the bodyparts before selecting create full body morph then zero and start with another one. its not the fastest process but its the way that Content creators did it for years before new external tools became availible(Some still do it the old fashion way, loading each morph into each bodypart one at a time then creating the FBM).

About V4, Kuroyume mentioned in another thread about some esoteric cr2 file, I think he meant V4 with that, I like V4 as a model, but the cr2 file is a PITA.

Finally I managed to tame the beast! Here is the process I followed, for anyone interested: 1) Import cloth mesh into Poser and conform it to V4. 2) Use Morph Magic to transfer FBMs to the conformed CR2. 3) Edit CR2 to remove unwanted parts. 4) Use Morph Manager to Remove superfluous morphs left over from boning. 5) Use EasyPose to remove unwanted (and non functioning dials) from the CR2. 6) Turn off computer, have a cup of tea and open a book to read by the fireplace. (Alternatively you may want to curse the complexity of the unreal world we live in.... :) Good luck to all and to all a good night....
