Thread: PPC final version? | Forum: Blender
Hi VRG
Ok I see what you mean yes it does seem the last stable release that would be supported is 2.63 which you can get here http://download.blender.org/release/Blender2.63/ this the archived of that version and I will add that even thou it might not have the current bells and whistle it is a still a really stable build

Thread: PPC final version? | Forum: Blender
Hello VRG
What OS version does the G5 Currently have if it is OS X then you can install the latest version of Blender which is currently 2.67B would be supported by the OS and since you had 2.58 installed which is also supported by OS X I am sure you should have no issue running 2.67b. Hope this helps

Thread: Morphs from Blender to Poser | Forum: Blender
Was going to mention that I have Gimp 2.8 and noticed the crashing as well at first but reinstalled it a second time latest build and this time when it installed it installed as the 64 Bit verison and have not had it crash since and also notice that there is an older plug in pack that due to some changes in how Gimp handles plug ins now that cuased some instablity with Gimp. The Gimp Massive package seems to cause crashing issues where as the Gimp Extension Plug in seems to work more stable with the current version of Gimp

Thread: Morphs from Blender to Poser | Forum: Blender
Well I went to Blender since they changed that made learning it much easier than the former 2.49 interface. I learned to model with Hexagon which i still use sometimes but developement and fixes seem to have stopped completely. I heard about that plug in for Firefox but as of late Firefox has become to moody and crashing way to often so been using chrome as a defualt browser. I have Poser 2012 but still go back to Poser 7 which still seems a bit easier to work with. Saw you Garden Project does look pretty impressive

Hello BardicHeart
I have not tried this yet myself and this tutorial I came across does discuss creating full body morphs but it is using Blender 2.49 now I have found that even tutorials for the older verison can be done with a bit of tweaking in the current version of Blender so not sure if this will give you some help hope it does

Thread: hope someone can help | Forum: Photoshop
Hello DarkElegance
Doing some research seems there is an updated verison of the plugin that needs to be downloaded to provide usability in the 64 bit versions of Photoshop. Have you tried downloading that and installing? Here is the link for the update for http://support.alienskin.com/entries/20693386-Old-installers These updates according to what information I could fine provided support for 64 bit versions of Photoshop. Now it seems has discontinued xenofex 2 but has incorprated the functions of it into their new Eye Candy 7 product. I hope this information helps in some way.

Thread: Edge Loop tools I need please | Forum: Blender
Hello Zandar
I tried looking up from information I have and not all the tools you use in 3DSMax will translate to Blender tool for tool and I could not find anything similar to Dot loop Selection had to look it up to determine what it does but I know that there is an additional addon for more loop tools with in Blender and that have what you are seeking just under perhaps another tool name and it maybe already in your version of Blender under addons and needs to be turned on. Here is a link and short video that might help. Loop Tool Addon As to your second request know of nothing at the moment that is simmilar but and I know your transitioning from 3DSmax but this page might help as well granted it is for Maya but Maya and 3DSMax share many similar features and perhaps this can assist as well I hope Modelling in Blender & Maya There are constant improvements and tools becoming available for Blender and our community here has many well informed members and sure some are perhaps already thinking of ways to help answer your questions.

Thread: Need Help W/ NURBS Path and Curve Modifier | Forum: Blender
Hi Charlie
Hate to disappoint that is actually a screen shot of the actual video i try to watch the full video first before doing the steps so the first thing I noticed was a mistake I often make when working with the curve modifier is forgetting to set the object to the Nurbs so perhaps that is where the step you might have missed since this was maybe the one thing I notice perhaps 5 or so minutes into his discription. I agree the videos on Guru and Blender Cookie are good but I know I had to rewatch many of them a few times before getting close to their results. Also as far as him using 2.59 and you using the latest that usually is not an issue but be aware that on occasions they do move some features to other locations which can be maddening. try using the X axis instead of the Y and see what happens it can be something that simple. I know he mentions the Y but he might have missed it himself in doing the discription that is why I freeze videos often to match up what I see on my screen with what is on theirs including the that axis he might have just made a simple opps in what he said compared to what was actually on the screen.
Hope it helps

I have to agree a good PDF does go along way shame there arent to many out there I know of two one is BlenderBasics_4thEdition and Blender Course Basic V2 both are good starting points and are in PDF format
Lobo

As they do. :bored: Which is one reason I much prefer PDFs. There are some really good videos out there, but really, nothing beats a good PDF for transportability, flexibility, search-ability and clarity.

I can understand your frustration have been learning Blender myself manly from tutorials and documents and trust me it is worth it in the long run. Blender has becoem so much more user friendly than it use to be and it is easy to perhaps miss something. I watching and doing the tutorial as well and just wondering if you might have forgotten to set the object in the curve modifier seems something real easy to miss since the author of the tutorial seems to be going a tad fast in the video.
