I would like to put some brushes into blender,also I found a colourful layout I 'd like to use.The layout is in XML form the brushes are black and white jpg's mabe bump map looking.

Perhaps the above tutorial can help with importing the brushes. I have never done this.

I just leave the interface as it is - if I changed it, it would confuse me when I watch tutorials.

To input the new theme start up Blender and then File User prefrences Theme tab and you will see the button to install Theme at the botton then find where you saved the theme XML file that you have. Then save user settings after the them file has been installed. I agree with Nanette if you are new to Blender and are learning from tutorial or such in the begining leaving the defualt theme is advisable. I have only changed my theme recently as I have become more comfortable with Blender. Aslo a note on theme make sure you have a verision of the theme that matches your current verision of Blender. Hope this helps

the in question theme is only a color change so I can see better

I use the Energy theme for blender it is much easier on my eyes the defualt theme can be a diffcult to focus on due to the similarities in the color scheme always had a bit of a issue with the defualt color scheme is not easy on the eyes

Were do you get that theme?the one I now have is very brite less hard then the original one.
