Thread: New Scene...anyone want it? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I eagerly collect all your stuff. I'm working with the industrial scene at the moment. Would like this one too.

I regularly get attacked for saying this, but IMO the pricing model is all wrong. Where does the money paid for bandwidth eventually go? Bandwidth isn't a resource that costs so much per gigabyte to make, and I don't believe that users ought to be charged for consuming something that has no cost. Particularly not when it's the web site owner that pays, while it's the people who download that actually consume the bandwidth. So any popular site becomes a victim of its own popularity. Returning to the original post, yes and no. There's such a rush to put stuff in the market these days that a lot of stuff goes in that really isn't worth the asking price. So it won't sell, no big deal. The author would have done everybody include himself/herself a favour by sharing, though. On the other hand, some of the stuff in the marketplace really is of very high quality and very reasonably priced and I have no problem with that at all.

I agree, but that's to say Bryce is needed to get best results from Poser rather than the other way round. 3D modellers seem to be a matter of taste. I could never get the hang of Amapi, but Rhino is great.

kieraw - I'm not suggesting you should write 200 cheques. But bandwidth is not something like coal that costs so much per ton to dig out of the ground. The current situation is that someone running a web site can be charged for something over which they have no control, which to me is just not morally right. I've seen plenty of popular sites that got burned just because they were popular, and the hobbyist owner suddenly found he had a huge debt. brycetech and others are in the position of someone going into a bar and saying "the drinks are on me" without knowing how many customers there are. Not good. I don't what the ideal model is. But this ain't it.

It's a continual problem as long as the host is charged for bandwidth instead of the user. It's like a houseowner being charged every time someone drives down his street. He can't control that! The system is wrong.

Incidentally, if I read things correctly, you pay $26 for 3 months and can download all the textures currently on the site, which must be a wonderful bargain. So long as you like Mike, as most of it seems to be Mike textures which are not of interest to me.

Even if applying the V2 morphs to the P4 version did cause her to split out of her clothes, that can often be touched up with a well-placed magnet. I find I don't use the V2P4 version just because of the lack of morphs. It's a shame.

Withdrawing like this won't stop the guilty people. It will only affect the innocent people. Are you sure you want to do this?

Well, the last one was upgradeable. 99 British pounds as I recall (plus tax and postage).
