If you want to merge the runtimes, first step i would do, copy all the Libraries on an external harddrive, so you will have a proper backup. Then you can merge Runtimes. The main reason i have done this in the past was to avoid double entries. Seems no big problem, but if you start a search and you get the same item three or more times, it annoys me. Also working with the material room is easier if everything is packed in one Runtime. In my case, i had 5 runtimes, one for V4/M4 figures, one for props and buildings, one for project evolution, one for V3/M3 figures and one for stuff i created by my self. Nowadays i have merged the first four and keeped the last on it's own. The downside is, the library is rather large and poser 11 gets pretty slow, browsing the content is not very pleasant. I have made some hard decisions regarding my content and sorted out quite a few items i haven't been using for a while or even not at all. Hope that answers your question and i wouldn't be glad if it helped.

Thanks, i'm trying to get this done in the fitting room. Wasn't obvious to me but if it works, that's all i need.

B Since a few days, i use 4 Runtimes. I had some issues with my main Runtime to load in PP11, so I split it in 4 pieces. M4/V4, M3/V3, Props and Stuff, Project Evolution. LaFemme and her Partner in Crime is placed in the Poser Runtime.

@donnena At first I used an external HDD on a USB 3.0. But I suspected that this was the bottleneck and I bought a internal 1TB SSD to run the OS (Win10) and all programs and databases. I used different settings inside Poser11.2 for the Libraries, the indexing process and the search for content inside the property's segment as well. I also used different directories for the runtime. But the runtime is stubborn as a mule. If I use DS and load my Main Runtime into it, everything is pretty fast. Like I said, in Poser 2014 everything works fine. Only Poser Pro 11 seems to think about the Universe and the purpose of life and one eternity later it came up with 42 as a solution. But it's funny to think that i am the only one who has this problem. Am so special!

@donnena I have windows defender running on my system and it's always working. The question is, why should a running antivirus software react differently to two pieces of software (PP2014 and PP11.2) if both programs are trying to access the same runtime. Seems not logical, right?

@donnean I was trying several places for storing my Runtimes. I keeped them for safety reasons on an external harddrive, a HDD with 2TB of storage capacity. My initial thought was that this HDD was the bottleneck and therefore I recently purchased a bigger SSD to run the system. The former SSD had 250 GB and with Windows 10 and all my Software installed there was not much left for having all the content. So i installed the Runtime on one of my internal HDD. Under PP2014, this was no problem at all, everything worked well. Since PP11, this became an issue. I thought, if i place my Runtime next to the Runtime Poser creates during the installation, it will run them faster. With the new SSD I have more then enough space for storage, so i placed my Runtime on it. First i choose the Document Folder under c/username/documents and run some testing. This was not successful, the library is slow and it takes forever to open a folder and load an item. Next i used the c/public/documents directory, like Poser do. Same result as before. I have no idea how to fix this problem.

@adp001 I use Poser since Version 5 and i am storing content since back then. So yes, i am aware of the fact that Poser is pretty old software. But this issue is not there if i run the same content library under the same conditions with Poser Pro 2014. One would think, that the jump from Adobe Air to what ever they use today to run the library engine is meant to be an improvemen, right? But it seems not to be the case. I came to the same conclusion you do, i sorted out items that i haven't used for years and gave each figure generation it's own department. I ended up with 5 Runtimes, plus my own stuff that is separate from all the other content. This was a solution for my initial problem, but now poser couldn't find textures or obj files, because of the many runtimes. This happened from time to time, not really on a regular basis, but searching 5 Runtimes manually is really a pain in the butt. My system is build on an i7x with 12 native cores and 16 GB of ddr4 Ram. I recently upgraded my Grafik Card from ATI Radeon 5900 HD to an Nvidia GTX 1050ti. This is not the newest or fastest piece of hardware, I know, but that's what i have and it works for DS, PP2014, Paint Storm Studio, Gimp and half a dozen other apps without any problems in regards of lacking or timeouts or crashes what so ever. But thank you for answering, i appreciate your comment and take that into consideration.

@ Nails60 I know what you mean. After i connected my Main Library with Poser, i open the library and let the indexing took its time. I deactivated the option for refreshing the index on every start of the library so the software should use the first index file. If i add new content, i normaly push the refresh button so the indexing prozess can include the new items into the database. I also set the search for items from deep to low, but this had no effect what so ever. It could be that there is a native limit for a single Library and my Library seems to scratch this limitation. I have tryed to fix this problem by creating smaller Libraries, for every Figure Generation a seperat one, but this is simply to time consuming.

@quiterop No offense taken. I think you made it clear and I'm able to recognize satire. I'm a longtime windows user, started with ME. From time to time I was looking over the fence fo Mac and Linux just out of curiosity. I'm a huge fan of the idea that one can have the best of two worlds, so to speak. It's the same when it comes to Poser and DS. I work with both, primarily with Poser, but there is much to like in DS also. Sometimes i think, why not have this feature in Poser, or the other way around. Because of this mindset i created a head lamp for the main camera in poser. I found the idea great. Likewise i copied the render behavior from DS, that means the figure and the scene are rendered, but the dome/construct will not. This cuts render time significant. I digress, i think you get the idea. Thats my motivation to try out things like bringing Poser to Linux. And as we learned, I was not the first one who tryed this.

Thank you 12rounds for pushing me in the right direction. I was not sure if it works or not, glad it worked. This thread was not meant to start a war between different OS, it was simple meant to prove a point, do poser funktions on linux mint. Like i said, there are pros and cons for eatch OS, but this was not the point.

Big Brother will not be happy with this rebellious behavior. I gave up trying to fight the wind a long time ago. Why even use Linux when every computer ships with Windows 10 and any computer with Windows 7 still can upgrade freely to Windows 10. I'm not some Windows guru. I used to be quite the rebel with my Timex Sinclair until the dang thing caught fire.
So what are your advantages? Hm, i was curious if it would work. And I don't take a No for an answer, if i didn't have to. The advantages of linux are, it's free, open, fast and secure. I have a main Runtime with over 90 GB of data. If i copy this chunk of data with windows 10, it would take hours to finish the job. Under linux it was done in 45 minutes. On windows 10 and pp11.2 this Runtime loads into the library window with a time delay of several minutes. And to open a specific folder additional time. The same task is done like so under linux. Linux doesn't boot trying to install the newest version of candy crush and I have to wait until this urgent job is finished. But there are reasons to stay in the windows world. It's a lot easier to do things. Just clicking an exe file and install a program right from a web page is one of this advantages. In linux you have several options to install programs but the most efficient way to do things is the terminal. And it's the complicated way. One has to learn command lines and read manuals. But it's fun, I like it. And now, with my favorite program ported into linux, it's even more fun.

Poser 11.2 is running on Linux Mint with Wine 4.03 and a net frame installation via winetricks. This starts to be a fun experience.

Ok, the problem with the library in poser pro 2014 (missing Adobe Air) seems to be solved. I followed the instructions from this web page [https://www.noobslab.com/2015/05/adobeair-is-now-available-for-ubuntu.html] My wine version is 4.0 and i started Poser with the windows XP layer. My attemped to solve the issue with Daz Studio has failed, i will try again later. Poser 11.2 runs now! But i got an error message about the cefclient.exe. In result of this error, there is no library shown in the window. I will update wine soon, maybe it helps, stay tuned.

Thanks a lot. That helps I think. PP2014 runs but has exact the Adobe Air issue. I fund a side with some Comman lines I will check out later this day. DS runs fine, the problem is the cmo connection to the DS database. This problem disables smart content and the login. I also found a workaround tutorial for this I will give a try later. If someone is interested, I will post my progress in this matter here The most amazing part of this is, that there are linux/poser user at all. Never thought it was a thing. Thanks so far, I'll come back later.
