... and don't try and muck about with the user's directory structure. I for one don't like having huge numbers of subdirectories each with one or two things in. Also, poses should not reference the hair (this almost always screws up).

Thread: My best pic to date - or so I thought - but hardly a nibble | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I do sometimes find that pictures of mine I think are great are received quite cooly, while those I hardly thought worth posting go down a storm.
Thread: Bryce Rain | Forum: Bryce
There is a standard rain mat that comes with Bryce, which I've used before on a stretched cube to good effect.

When you have your ass back on Questor, although it was short-sighted of Corel not to give B5 the ability to read .pz3 files, the problem of Bryce-Poser compatibility is still partly CL's fault. When Poser creates an .obj file it also creates a .mtl file to describe the textures - but it only exports PART of the texture data to the .mtl file. If Poser wrote the whole of it, Bryce would read it. (You can check this by hand-editing the .mtl file.) Therefore CL could issue a P4 patch that would export the full .mtl info.
Thread: Poser to Bryce.....Great tutorial | Forum: Bryce
Actually I strongly disagree with several things in that tutorial. For one thing, it makes more work than is necessary. Yes, I used to fiddle about with families once upon a time. You don't need to. One of these days when I have the time I'm going to make my own tutorial.
Thread: Rendering in Poser or Bryce ? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Bryce is much better in quality terms, though it is much slower, and is a little "harsh" - any flaws in the mesh will be very visible.
Thread: It's time someone said it, may as well be me... | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I think one should particularly single out the authors of those absolutely indispensible programs like UVmapper (Steve Cox) and Morph Manager (Mason) without whom we would all be lost.
Thread: Did I miss this important point? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
As I've said before, do you want divide up short stories into those written with Word, those written with Word Perfect, those written with Amipro ... ?

And Crash, and Tank Jr, and the rest of them ... No-one dares post such things for fear of offending id's copyright.

Thread: Finding an older copy of bryce | Forum: Bryce
Upgrading from the free version of Bryce3 to Bryce4 WAS possible. So I don't know why upgrading it to 5 shouldn't be.
Thread: bryce gallery | Forum: Bryce
It's a problem when you try to sort galleries by software. So you do a Poser figure, with Rhino props, rendered in Bryce, postworked with Photoshop, where do you post it? It's a bit like having short stories categorised by short stories written in Word, in Word Perfect, in Amipro and so on.

Thread: Troubles with transparency map in Bryce 5 | Forum: Bryce
Attached Link: http://www.castironflamingo.com/tutorial/grouper/index.html
You need Grouper from the attached link to make your life easier. Then you don't need to worry about that dialogue box. Export your obj file. Open it in Grouper. Click "Scan". Then associate all the bits that use the same transparency map; for example, Vairesh's Total Hair has three transparency maps for scalp, fringe and the rest, although there are about six meshes in all, so you would group four, one and one. If you study the render materials screen in Poser you can find which materials in the hair use which transparency map. You still have to apply the transmaps by hand in Bryce, but at least you can now find more easily the right parts. In the end you can have a very nice result. This site uses cookies to deliver the best experience. Our own cookies make user accounts and other features possible.
