For my early Christmas present I get my wisdom teeth removed(5 days before). Well, it's 7:30 Saturday morning and I need to get ready for my Chemistry final, followed immediately by my Calculus final.

That's what I'm wondering, too. If all you are going to use Terragen for is the heightmaps I would recommend getting World Machine instead. It can generate much better ones with a greater level of control. I think Terragen renders just fine, especially since its images have the same level of detail no matter how close or far the camera is to the surface, unlike image-based textures.

4 meg cable is huge! Around here you would have to drop several hunderd dollars a month for that kind of speed! and the prices have dropped 75% over the last 4 years. But I'm not worried about cost. The only price I pay for high-speed access on campus is it automatically logs everybody off at 4 am and has a really stupid filter and crashes all the time.

My scanner is pretty new and I don't have any problems scanning money. I was curious to see just how many of the details I could get and found I could blow up George's eye to fill the screen without pixelating. It's actually kind of creepy so I haven't done it again. I've always been wondering how to do paper, so thanks.

wings is fun like that. I got "inspired" and made an upright piano from a cube. The two whole spaceships I've made were from a single cube.

It looks like it jumps off the screen! I scroll up and right when the whole image is showing it jumps at me! Excellent sense of motion! How did you do the shadow on the mountain-side? Way cool!

Wow, I was way off! But I still don't see it. It is definitley not too obvious. It would probably be easier to see with a higher quality image. I can't wait to see it in the gallery.

When I saw the topic I knew this had to be good. I am really curious what the objects are in the reflection. It look to me like an office chair and a model ocean liner. That is a very good image and idea. Well done!

That is guaranteed to work! HAHA! I would be so much more popular if I had Poser. But who wants to be a Poser? Seriously, Poser is a great program. Thumbnails definitely are the key. I think I might throw together some images and practice "thumbnailing." That actually sounds like a good idea. An image could be genius but if the thumbnail doesn't interest me I probably won't look.

That is some very cool lightning, but what strikes me as kind of odd and would probably help the contrast is having it cast some light on the nearby buildings. While you are making adjustments be sure the glow is behind the front-left building. That is a really cool image.

I am finishing an experiment at the moment on the effects of telling people I posted something. I know most of you saw my latest Bryce post because it probably got triple the viewings it would have if I didn't say anything about it. The same thing with the Terragen image I posted this morning only on a smaller scale because the Terragen community is not as large. Both of those got Excellent rankings which surprised me. I threw together both of those images. I know part of it is I am getting better but that can't be the whole story. The Excellent ranking under my thumbnails looks cool but what really matters to me is the comments. I will get comments from people I never heard of that say it is an incredible piece of art but the ones I really listen to are the ones from names I see here. If a no-name says an image is awesome I don't care. Some people say that about every image. But if one of you people says it is a good image I know it is a good image. When I got my first vote I thought I was going to the Hot 20 because I hardly ever see images with only a vote or two. It seems like that first vote gets the ball rolling and everybody starts voting. Just to warn you, the last phase of my experiment is beginning and it might not be pretty.

I was curious to see if I could do that "Active Camouflage" trick from Halo but I changed it around a little.
The question is, a big ship that can disappear is hiding from a few smaller fighters but which is really doing the hunting?
