I set myself up with a dual boot system. a) Win98 with the CD burner, virus killer, firewall, internet and email, plus some other old apps (inc P4+PP). b) XP Home with just P5. What I'm trying to do is keep P5 free of 'contamination' by other apps dll's and background processes etc, and it seems to work fine for me. PC is a 'home built' P4 2.4 on a Gigabyte GA-81R533 motherboard with 1Gb mem (two Samsung 512Mb DDR bought together). Graphics card is GeForce3 with as supplied drivers (about six months old). Nothing overclocked. I think dual boot is good option, if you have the spare disk space. Cheers Ian

To add clothing you need to select the double tick icon. The single tick icon will replace the figure with the clothing. Hope this helps. Cheers Ian

Poser 1 from a magazine CD, and then an immediate upgrade to 2, now on 4. Oh and the first prop I remember downloading was a horse trough that MAZ had made. Ian
Thread: My own 2 cents worth on the Pro Pack security issues... | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I think if CL want to protect their products, a good start would be to provide printed manuals, and definitely not include PDF manuals on the CD or available as downloads. Pirates may spend time trying to break codes, but they are unlikely to type up a copy of the manual to go with it. How useful would the PPP be without a manual? Whilst there are PDF copies of the manuals around they will likely get copied along with the software, and give the pirates what is effectively a full package. Whilst printed manuals may cost a little to produce no doubt the software protection system is costing something anyway. Ian

I use Nendo for morph making, with one or more reference pictures open in other windows, since Nendo doesn't allow a background pic. It has tools to pull vertices around, and a great 'tighten' function which will smooth out areas of a model without adding vertices. I haven't had much success with magnets in Poser myself. I guess Nendo and I are old friends now, and I just feel comfortable with it. I agree that good reference pics are essential. Ian

Graymare, Sure, I will be posting my version, but I want to do some more work on it first. I will post a new message when I have the model available. Because of the way I work it may take a couple of days before I am satisfied with it. Cheers Ian
