I'm with Marque on that one. Win2k Pro is GREAT! XP is designed for one OS and one PROGRAM per OS. EVERY PROGRAM must be registered to each machine, so ALL OF YOUR PROGRAMS must be purchased for each machine even of your machines are on a network. If you're a small company with a few machines, the software expense can be overwhelming. XP eliminates about 50% of the benefit of operating on a network... But I understand. Bill doesn't have enough money yet. pg

Thread: ExtraRuntime Folder | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
If what you have is an Extra Runtime FOLDER, (where you're finding more than one Runtime within Poser/one inside the other,) then smerc is absolutely right about what happened. A way to check is just view your file tree (in Windows Explorer) and see if you have duplicates or a repitition of file forders within Poser. If this is not at all what you're referring to... "never mind" :) I have no idea. pg

Thanks for the IW link and the plug for us and also Valandar's dragon. ("outnumbered by naked V's" lol :) FYI: Our Poser model prices are coming down a bit, but I shall make a post once our site reflects these changes. BTW,Who is the dragon-rendering King or Queen that would like to create some keewwwl renders for us to post, in exchange for our little dragoon? Any takers? Lemme know! Tx! We're going to have a detachable shuttle that contains a land cruiser buggy that is equipped with full weaponry. The shuttle is not done yet, but the land cruiser is. I'll get them out to all Magellan owners as soon as they're completed. I think I might make them available for download from Turbo Squid, but at present, we are only selling the Magellan direct from our own site. I'll keep you posted on that. To Silver and jarm, what can I say? Your work is (as Eddy Izzard would describe it,) "FANTASTIC!" Thanks so much for the great post, and glad you're all enjoying the ship. GREAT, FUN STUFF, GUYS! Cheers! PamThread: Looking for a few weapons... | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Have Futuristic Assassin Rifle in Poser. Have Tanto Blade in 3ds. "Have Gun Will Travel" :) Probably don't remember the show, "Palladin", do ya'? Wish I wasn't old enough to. ctc: pam@iw43d.com

I had no problem pulling it up. I'd first check your browser settings under the seciriity tab. If they're set too high, this might be the problem. Otherwise, check with your ISP provider. Pam

I must agree. While our company has been in the "not so pleasant limelight" as of late, you people are the reason we committed ourselves to converting our models and getting into this Poser community. Well, I must give top credit to the Stud himself.... smallspace, for the initial shove... and also to Mista PhilC for the fortitude to "keep on keepin' on". You were all so pleasant and helpful, and I thank all of you for your kind words after our magnificent blunder. Cheers! Pam

We've converted many 3ds models into Poser, and 3D Exploration (Deep Exploration I guess it's called now) is the program we use to do it. It works very well, and as I stated in my earlier post, this program maintains 3ds mapping coordinates perfectly. I've included the direct link to the page where you can download the trial version of this program. If you have any questions with your conversion, please feel free to contact Tom at knight@iw43d.com. He'll can help walk you through it if you run into problems. I also agree with Phil and would like to add that these fees from PayPal are very minimal compared to a MERCHANT ACCOUNT.
MERCHANT ACCOUNTS vs. PAYPAL:In order to accept credit card payments over the internet, you MUST HAVE a merchant account. In order to have a merchant account, you must be a licensed business. Then, because you are a business, (and Im using our company as an example) they charged us a minimum monthly fee of $37- for our merchant account to handle credit card transactions (in our case the account was with Card Services International, but WFB about the same amt.) Then, there is a fee for every electronically generated transaction. This fee goes to the company handling your secured internet gateway, (in our case this was Linkpoint, who is now out of business BTW.) On top of that, every time someone makes a credit card charge, a percentage of your sale goes to the credit card companies: (anywhere from 3% to 6% of the total sale) to Visa, MC, AX, etc.
I do understand your concerns, but as Phil said, their precautions are for YOUR security, and the fees really are minimal. There was a HUGE litigation between PayPal and the banks. The banks were furious that PayPal was able to conduct business without having to deal with all the bureaucratic nonsense that banks have to deal with. This lowers PayPals operating cost, hence the ability to charge lower fees, which consequently takes a BIG CHUNK of busine$$ away from the banks. PayPal won the lawsuit for one simple reason, THEY ARE NOT A BANK! The entire concept of PayPal is to electronically generate funds instantly, without having any actual exchange of paper or legal tender. Take it from someone who has dealt with, and been reamed by merchant account banking, PayPal is a beautiful thing!
Sorry that this is a bit lengthy. I just thought it might give those who are Anti-PayPal, a little bit different perspective.
Cheers! Pam

I know 3D Exploration will maintain all mapping coordinates if you're converting a model from 3ds into Poser, but what program are you converting the model from (with 3d Exploration?) into Poser. Isn't this sailing vessel a Poser model? pam
