I'm pretty sure there are a couple in the Marketplace, and one in the RDNA freebies
Thread: How do you think the new Daz 4 compares to Poser? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I have to agree, I just don't understand the changes to the UI. They already had a perfectly decent and almost infinitely customisable UI. It had a major drawback in that it could only display a limited number of morph channels, but I'm sure they could have fixed that without turning it into something by Fisher Price. You can immediately make it a lot less annoying by in changing the style to Highway, (makes the text and buttons smaller) and the Workspace Layout to Self Serve or City Limits. (Don't know why they chose such twee names).
Thread: Looking for a specific suit of armor for V4 | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
The only full plate armours for V4 I know of are Powerage's Supreme Plate Armour and DAZ's Historical Armour for V4 and Xurge's Warmonger and Lady of Darkness

All 3rd party products brokered by DAZ are designed for Poser (except the DAZ Studio dynamic clothing) and compatible with DAZ Studio. All older DAZ products are also designed for Poser.
The only DAZ products that have issues with older versions of Poser are Stephanie 4, Mike 4 (and it's derivatives) and the Kids 4 and there are workarounds for that.
DAZ Studio was designed to be compatible with Poser. It's only since DAZ Studio got it's figure setup tools that DAZ started introducing incompatiblities into their figures.
Also, Hiro Toon and Aiko Toon work fine in Poser. Hiro Toon 4 might have problems (being derived from Mike 4), but Aiko Toon 4 should work fine (as long as its installed in the same runtime as V4 and Aiko 4 - but that's necessary for all Vicky 4 and Mike 4 derived figures).
Also you should really check out Nursoda's figures here, they are awesome.
Thread: Why am I STILL getting Wishlist notifications? | Forum: Community Center
Deleting my wishlist is NOT acceptable.
I use my wishlist to store all the interesting stuff I come across while browsing the Store, because there is so much stuff in there I would never find it again - in other words, I use it as a wishlist. I may purchase things off it, I may not, but if something in the store interests me I wishlist it.
I am not interested in knowing every time someting goes on sale. I check in often enough to know when stuff on my wishlist is on sale, and if I have money to spare I might buy something.
Is it so difficult to have an option to disable wishlist notifications?
Thread: How do I turn off Wishlist item alerts only? | Forum: Community Center
Removing stuff from my wishlist is not an option. I use it to keep track of interesting stuff I find on Renderosity. If I removed them, I would never find them again, the signal to noise ratio in the Marketplace is so high and the search so poor. An example, the other day, I stumbled across some wonderful Sci-Fi items items by a vendor I had not heard of, that I would have bought on the spot if I could have. The problem? They had been discontinued and judging by the lack of reviews I may have been the first person to stumble across them.

I recommend using RTEJava sites.google.com/site/rtejava/downloads , as RTEncoder only works under Windows. Works exactly the same as RTencoder 1 (the version you want) and is IMHO better and more stable than RTEpy, the present free version from the creator of RTEncoder. It just needs Java, which you probably have installed.
Thread: OT: Virus warning!!!! | Forum: Bryce
Umm, they patched that at the beginning of the month. If you have Auto Updates on you should be secure.
EDIT: That was another IE bug I was thinking of. But AFAIK this one doesn't affect IE8.

This is the thread that discusses differences between Poser and D|S materials:

Thread: Lip Sync | Forum: DAZ|Studio
It appears to be a cut-down version of Mimic, or at least uses Mimic DMC files. I would suggest looking at a couple of Mimic tutorials.
But basically, load the sound file you want to use, load the DMC file for the character you are using and to get anything close to decent results, in the bottom box, type in the speech, using phonetic spelling (ie spell it the way it sounds). Have a took at the text files that come the speech samples, to get an idea of how this works. I'm still figuring this out myself
The Lipsync plugin comes with a selection of DMC files for various DAZ characters. You can download the Mimic DMC file for several other DAZ characters, like Sadie and AikoToon, from their page at DAZ. You can find DNC files for other characters in the Renderosity and 3DCommune free sections. LittleDragon has created DMC files for many characters and his Furrete & Furraldo characters come with them, I believe.
Thread: Texturing | Forum: DAZ|Studio
Not everything has a MAT pose :) Below is the relevant information from the readme file included with the textures.
Please take a few minutes to read the info below, it WILL save you time later.
This zip only contains textures if you want the Poser mesh:
Visit Vanishing Point at:
http://www.vanishingpoint.biz/freestuff.asp
Look for the Goodies Page Link.
=============================
Material Placements:
These files should be placed in
:runtime:textures:Aliens
example useage:
P5 c:program filesCurious LabsPoser 5runtimetexturesAliens
P4 C:Program FilesMetaCreationsPoserruntimetexturesAliens
Then you'll be able to use Numanoids MAT file.
SET OBJECT COLOR TO WHITE FOR EACH MATERIAL!
Olive ---> sparky_olive.jpg
White ---> sparky_white.jpg
Black ---> sparky_black.jpg
Silver ---> sparky_silver.jpg
Glass ---> sparky_glass.jpg
preview ---> not used
Red ---> not used
Hatch ---> sparky_hatch.jpg
So for a typical Windows DAZ|Studio installation, the files should go in
c:Program FilesDAZStudiocontentRuntimetexturesAliens
In Daz Studio, open the Surfaces Panel and select the appropriate shader / material, as listed above, and apply the approprate texture to the diffuse colour. There will ce a button below Diffuse Colour (or Color|Diffuse aas its now called), click on it , choose "browse" from the dropdown list, and navigate to where you put the textures.
So for the "Olive" material/shader, apply the "sparky_olive.jpg" texture and so forth as listed above in the extract from the readme.
Once all the textures are applied to the right material you can save this as a DAZ|Studio Material preset. Open the content panel, find an approprate place to save it , click on the "Add to Library" button at the bottom (the left of the 2 small ones) and choose "Materials Preset" and save it. You should be able to reapply the textures with the preset.
PS the editor seems to stip out backslashes from paths for some bizzare reason.
Thread: Body Hair | Forum: DAZ|Studio
Addendum to above:
The DAZ Cyberboots are a good buy, as they have a workboot texture and morph. Billy-t's Real Jeans here and at DAZ are also pretty good. PoserWorld seems to specialise in sensible clothing.
Thread: Body Hair | Forum: DAZ|Studio
As regards clothing, the DAZ Morphing Fantasy Dresses (and expansion packs) are a must have. They are incredibly versatile. With the right textures the MFD can be anything from a Medieval barmaids dress to a modern evening dress. All the MFD's except Stephanie Petite's one can share textures as well.
As regards other modern, sensible clothing, it is out there but can be hard to find among all the cocktail dresses and stilleto heels.
Thread: Body Hair | Forum: DAZ|Studio
A general rule of thumb is that textures for one character will not work on another because they are UV-mapped differently. Open a skin texture for V4 and one for V3 and you will see what I mean.
DAZ figures of the same generation usually share UV-mapping. So Aiko3, Victoria 3 and Stephanie Petite can all use the same textures with some issues around the nose and mouth. Same with Micheal 3, Hiro 3 and David. You can even use a female skin Millenium on a male Millenium character, again with some issues (V3, SP, A3, M3, H3 and D3 are also known as the Millenium figures for some reason).
However, A V3 skin will not work on V4, Miki 2 or Jessi as these are totally different characters.
When installing stuff, it is generally a good idea to unzip it to a temporary directory first, so you can read the readme's and check what it contains and perhaps adjust the runtime structure to suit your tastes, before you move it whatever runtime you intend keeping it
