Just a one time comment to clarify something. The title of the threat says problems with a "model", not problems with a vendor. Considering that I have nothing but praise for all his other models and loads of freebies, I do agree that he cares. I just don't know what happened with this particular one.
And no, there is no official update as far as I know. You'd have to contact him for that if your copy doesn't work either.
Ok, seems that perhaps this thread ran its course since no one can duplicate my errors... so moderators, do as you please.

Well, I didn't know where to put it so I put it here. If the mods find it necessary to move the thread to the proper place I will not oject.

Ok, so he got the bar fixed. Somewhat. Textures still load wrong in both programs but at least I can fix that. Now it's the ceiling that I just noticed does the same thing with exploding polys. I feel bad pointing it all out... but shouldn't these things have been noticed in the QA process...? And again, it does it on both programs. I completely understand when a vendor doesn't support certain programs, but that usually is just materials' wise, and like I said, that's something I can change and fix to my liking, but when the models themselves aren't right...? And I also understand that in the product page he put that P8 is recommended; but right before it it says that it works and P6 and above.
A quick trip through PoseRay fixed the exploding poly in the ceiling but got completly rid of a particular face where the poly came from. What now?

Interesting, since I actually tried that yesterday before I posted here and had nothing, and I am looking at it right now and there is still nothing.
But thanks anyway. Finally got a sitemail from the vendor, so we'll see what happens from there.

Thanks, but that'd work if there was an actual OBJ for the figure in question. For some reason the folder associated with that set only has OBJs for the main building figures. I even redownloaded the actual product file from my account to see if there was another geometry folder I may have missed.

Guess I should add. I posted it in the Poser forum because if the solution calls for me to load in Poser then use in DS, that's fine.

I'm speaking from personal experience, sweet heart, and I can tell you right now. A great majority are not justified.

Wow... and we go back to the idea that anything short of ponies and rainbows gets stern messages to "Be more positive."
sigh Bye, bye PC membership. Just clearing my wishlist now, not adding anything else. Anyone know if the Prime membership will ever be back to the $25 price? I'd snap it up in a minute.

Quote - that should have read: From my perspective you CAN'T betray a piece of software. I really wish we could all release our irrational defense of particular art tools and get over it.
sorry
It's ok, and I completely agree. Yes, I want to start using Poser, but will I ever drop DS3A? Nope. Like it too much. I even have DS4A and I will be making the effort to learn it. There is one thing in DS3 that Poser doesn't have that I honestly don't know how Poser users do without and that's Morph Follower, so believe you me, I'll be using both programs. My... issue... and I hate using that word, really, is not with DS, Poser, Genesis, V4, etc, it's more with the general atmosphere and attitude that sprung up since the release, and even before.

Rand - Thank you for answering, :) I wasn't holding the company responsible for what was said by the fans, I do however hold some of its staff responsible for the reason I was given as to why my posts were removed. I will not discuss the details here for obvious reasons, so feel free to PM me if need be. I completely understand the fact that there is not one single human being that looks like the other; cloning is not that advanced yet, but there are some basic anatomy rules that need to be followed for every human being. Honestly? There is not one 3D human model I've seen that is within the hobbyist's price range that follows those rules, not Genesis, not V4, not V3, not Antonia, not Jessie, not one. Does that stop me from using them? Not at all. It's all art after all and I have yet to render a single "normal" run of the mill human (all of my characters are metahuman, aliens, etc). It's the fact that to some (I will NOT generalize here, mind you) do not allow differing opinions to be expressed, no matter how much the OP is trying to be civil, that give me a sour taste in the mough. But I digress. Happened there, not here.
As for the traitor name calling, no worries, it wasn't staff doing so. Again, more details? Feel free to PM me.
Thanks again.

Funny how someone with proper knowledge of a horse's anatomy doesn't get shut down and ridiculed as someone (or make that plural) with proper knowledge of human anatomy did (back in the other place). It smells fishy.
But anyway, some seem to forget that there really aren't only Poser users who are unhappy with how things are going. Some of us longtime DS users are more than happy to make the switch in programs due to the treatment received. Some of us are even being called traitors.
