One thing about Carrara is, it approaches what the better known 3D apps (Cinema 4D, etc.) can do, but is much more economical to purchase. And that's a plus for those of us on a limited budget.

Ease of use with the interface, also the great native render engine and it's speed.

I'm saddened that Daz couldn't see the potential in Carrara - it could have been as strong of a program as Cinema 4D, if they had just continued to develop it. Maybe, it just wasn't profitable enough. Who knows? Does anyone think Carrara might continue under some other publisher? Let's hope.

I still want to very much work with Carrara. The problem comes several years down the line, when it will no longer work with a modern OS. As we'll need to upgrade our OS to use subscription Photoshop, or surf the net. Shame on Daz for this problem.

Let's hope this excellent program that we all love will have another incarnation of some sort.

Thinking of the free upgrade to Mac OS Sierra. Who knows if Carrara with work with it? I recently bought Strata 3D, and while they have done everything possible to make that program user friendly, it's just not Carrara, and I find I can't be nearly as productive as quickly. I'm used to thinking about art, not struggling with an interface. And so far, the renderer has nothing on Carrara's. Come on Daz!

I love this program, it has been so wonderful for me. Is there any chance of Daz developing it as an open source like Blender I wonder?

The reason being is that I want to use Mac Yosemite OS on a new computer this summer.

I, for one, would like to see version 9, and for Carrara to be brought up to date. Very much love the program, but eventually...

I happily use it everyday. But I'm looking to get a new mac this summer, which will have the Yosemite OS. Will also be upgrading Photoshop and Painter at that point. My current Photoshop is CS4, which doesn't run on Yosemite.

I wish it wasn't the case.. was just thinking where Carrara might be by now if Daz had stuck with it. But what's the use of this? Can we persuade Daz to change their mind? Maybe merge Carrara and Studio and Bryce together? Now, that'd be super for us!

We want version 9! We want our Carrara! Come on Daz..we're waiting on ya.
