Thread: Trouble with custom image size.....Need Advice! | Forum: Vue
I've used render to disk with a custom size under user settings and had no problems. Its really strange how these little bugs come up that only affect one or two people. Rich
Thread: wrong Vue Use ? | Forum: Vue
Any way that works for you is a good way to work. I use layers extensively myself and I often move objects between layers as the scene evolves. Its especially usefull when setting up lighting to have each light in a different layer so you can render the scene with each individual light to see just what it is affecting. I've only had one scene that I had to break up into multiple renders due to the number of objects and poly count, and even at that I could have done it all in one render if I had a bit more patience. The only thing you can export from Vue is terrains and I would be very surprised if any conversion software supported Vue objects. I'm afraid the duck is stuck as a .vob. Rich
Thread: Vue4 vs Bryce5? | Forum: Vue
Uhh, deadman67, this thread is over a year old. ;) About your suggestion, It would be nice but unfortunately you would have add all the price tags together along with the features. Rich
Thread: Specular highlight problem | Forum: Vue
That is exactly the problem. Thanks for putting this up Eric. I've had too much going on and haven't had a chance. It should be on the wishlist, and I'd like to see exlcude lists as well. For now I'll have to do a seperate specular pass if its going to be a problem. Rich
Thread: Specular highlight problem | Forum: Vue
Cheers: What I want is for my key light to create speculars but not the non-shadow casting fill lights. Guitta: I'll get some renders up tommorow to show what I mean. Rich
Thread: Specular highlight problem | Forum: Vue
Guitta: Turning the lens flare off didn't affect speculars. I tried that already. Caroluk: I tried softening the fill lights and it didn't work. Trying to use a diffusing gel might be a good idea though. sittingblue: I tried dimming the fill lights but they were too dimm once the specular was gone. One thing I didn't try was using a less saturated color, something like a neutral grey. I think more light options would be a good thing for the wishlist. Stuff like turning off speculars and maybe an exclude list for each light so you can just light certain objects without adding to the overall light in the scene. I'll add it to the wishlist when I get a chance. Thanks for the help everyone. Rich
Thread: Faster downloading images please... | Forum: Vue
I agree completely with everything said so far. I'm curious how everyone feels about forum posts, though. I try to keep them under 50kb, but since I use smaller dimensions (640x480 or less) for forum posts over gallery posts, could I effectively compress them even more? Rich

If you figure out a way to make Big money let me in on it. I'd even settle for Medium money! ;)

Thanks for the responses. I've contacted e-on about this and I'll post the answer to a new thread. The link is to the image in question in my gallery btw. RichThread: Photo miscellany | Forum: Photography
