Going on the assumption that I CAN do this (I think so, but it probably won't be done until Sunday), I'll set up the next leg of the challenge, and since GeorgeD mentioned that he'd expected either himself or Traveller to get a challenge, I'll target ... GeorgeD Theme: Space War with a catch - Space 1889... May render in anything; must include one totally new prop/figure of your own creation, no other restrictions except for theme... The theme here is that space travel was discovered in the 19th century, and the Victorian society took to the stars in WOODEN ships (well, OK, there are probably a few ironclads floating around too...). Aside from space travel, and possibly steam-driven computers and the like, technology is what it was at the time - the two warring factions could be humans and aliens or two nations of Earth, at your discretion.
Thread: Poser 3 vs 4 | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
4 adds a lot of features (transparancies, the ability to use the Victoria/Millie character, etc), but if you're going to be using Poser just for posing, and doing your rendering, etc. in 3DS Max, then you probably don't need it. You may WANT P4 after a while though; it DOES add a lot of neat features to the program...
Thread: Help!!! I Need a Rubber Ducky Badly | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I think Doug Sturk (Sturkworks/3D Comic Collective) has one; he's used them in his contest entry!

Thread: All broken images everywhere on site | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
The Webster images in the Complaint forum were coming up OK... Maybe V13 knows something I don't? (Actually, those are the ONLY images I've seen today, I think).

I have to suspect that EGI Sys AG is kind of like a holding company or maybe a Capital Investment firm; they provide funding for other companies in exchange for a slice of the profits and such. I don't know, but that's the impression I have from what little I've read so far.
Thread: Zygote got a new hairstyle for Vicky | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Arcady, I think they are releasing the items individually for $10-20 as they come out, but are planning on bundling them together later; at least that was the impression I had from the first information they released about Mictoria.
Thread: Problem with Shoes and Walk designer .... | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
This is a common problem; I know there are some morphs for high heels and such to work, but for the most part the problem here is that the Walk Designer movements are based on the position of the actual foot, and ignore any clothing on it. I suppose using the CR2 editors to create a new figure with integrated shoes (defined as the lowest point on the figure) would be the best option. I'd check the animation forum here and at the PFO for pointers on this; I've seen it mentioned a lot, but can't recall exactly how to fix it.
Thread: March Contest: "Aeryn II: In the Caverns of Sorrow" [800x600/98K] | Forum: Contest Announcements
OK; I had to copy it and brighten it in PSP6 to see the detail, but the creature is there - though it looked kind of like a sketch render after lightening!
Thread: How much RAM is enough? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
One thing to keep in mind: Win95 can't handle more than 128 MB, and really maxes it's performance at 64. Win98 and Windows NT can't handle more than 256, and work best with about 128. Win2000 can allegedly handle 1GB of RAM ,but I've heard it tops out around 256 or 512. Or so I've heard.

I love the faces; might be a bit too ... mature ... for some visitors, but still nice work.
Thread: Victoria, a waste of time? A poll. | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I've seen enough renders with her to think Victoria is more than a niche model, so, even though I do not have her and tend to gloss over the discussions around poor "millie" I think it is worthwhile to make morphs, etc. for her. Especially if you learn things that can later be applied to more "mainstream" models!

Thread: My clothes won't fit (Victoria/Milli) | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Yeah, that's the downside to Victoria - until Zygote starts releasing the new clothes for her there won't be any that conform easily!
Thread: poser4 trans maps into Bryce4? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
There are a hand full of tutorials on this here and at the other PFO; I keep meaning to look them up myself, but never get around to it. Check under Tutorials, and the Bryce Forum here and (when it's restored) at Willow's Forum.
