I checked out xwall after gradient (John) let me know that he saw 1 of my fractals there and sure enough there it was! Someone mentioned that the illegal poster (gdmora) is a member here at Rendo and there is a comment in this thread that mentioned an illegal poster by the name of:Â fidato50, had someone elses work posted by him on xwall too. He is also a member here at Rendo and when I checked out his home page he has no info or art listed but has dozens of favorite artist listed. It might be a good idea to check his home page and see if he has listed you as a favorite artist and then check his postings at xwall to see if you see any of your works. I have always wondered about being on someone's favorite list and the only thing I see on their home page is nothing but a long list of favorite artists. Anyway I thought that everyone (especially 3D artists) should check to see if they are listed on his homepage. This may turn out to be an artist's worst night mare!!!

I have always felt that the work of an artist is the artist! It reflects things about us that anyone who knows you very well can read your emotions and feelings in what you create. Many of my images come from how I am feeling physicially and mentally and even my titles will reflect the same things. I seem to be able to do more when emotions are running high than I can when I just sit down at the comp. and say OK, today I'm going to render an image. It doesn't seem to work that way for me, I come up with absolutely nothing. I have always heard that artists are tempermental and difficult to work with because of their mood swings. Maybe this is a good thing to put one's self into their work, it probably means more to them when they finish it and the people who view their work may get more from it as well. Art with all the emotions and moods that an artist has will always be better than something created with no feelings. And yes, I do beleive that emotions can be expressed even through a computer!!!

When I first started using apo, I was using my hubby's older laptop and I know (that in the beginning and even now) have a lot to learn about gradients and apo program itself. After getting a new desktop comp. I transferred all my files and began looking through them to make sure that they were all there. What I saw, I was ashamed of!!!! The colors where sh***y looking and many of the images were pixelized. I looked at these same images through the laptop and couldn't see a lot of the things that the new comp. showed. Looking at others work some times I wonder if maybe different comps. could make a big difference and then I thought about the artist's eyes themselves, not everyone in real life sees everything in the same way especially colors. People who are color blind for example and there are other variations of this that allows a person to see the most beautiful colors they have ever seen and then someone with different eye resolutions (or what ever it is called) sees these same colors and they see the ugliest colors possible. So I wonder sometimes if image changes are in the comp. or are they some slight defect in one's vision! Anyway, it's just a thought!

I just looked at the images printed in the calenders for 2004 thru 2007 and I saw a great number of the images were done by the same bunch. Some artists had as many a 4 images for one year and some had 3 images. With all the talented artists here, why can't there be a limit to how many images a person can have in the final cut, let's say "ONE" for instance and for the judges who make the decissions for the finals not be allowed to enter. That is like "The Miss America Contest" being judged by two of the contestants or the President deciding who he wants to hold offices from VP all the way down to dog catcher.

I don't think that I'll get my hopes up and enter! I haven't even been able to win any of the regular monthly contest,it seemed as if the same people or programs are winning every month and since I don't like using that program and am not on very friendly terms with most of the ones that make the decisions or are in the winners circle all the time, there is no reason why I would even consider sending in an entry!

Thanks EnglishBob!!! I thought that there should be something out there for storage. I do fractals and months ago before I knew that I was going to try 3D, I ran across a program, but only glanced at it for a few seconds, wish I had dl'd then. This time I decided to ask the experts to see what the recommended and save some time surfing the web. I knew that one of you pros would have the answer, hope that I will be able to post something here one day. After I figure out how to work my 3d software, that is!!! LOL Thanks Sweetie! It seems as though we have had people through out the beginning of time who feels the way Tony feels! There have been artists over the eons who have created an image, sculpture, ect that may have been easy to do or it could have been very difficult, then here comes someone else who hates it, so they order it destroyed or marred beyond recognition and restoration. The pharoahs did it for centuries and Hitler only did it for just a short time but the world lost so many wonderful works of art and writings that are lost for an eternity. So, if we don't like what someone does, ban it, remove it, destroy it and kill the artists, so they wont produce any more art that certain people hate! Hell why don't we just go back to the beginning of time, before anyone ever did the first drawings on cave walls and make it a forbidden sin!!! Just because you don't like it, it will be easier for you to close your eyes than it would be to critize and forbid me something that I enjoy doing!!! Tony Yeboah - The Apophysis Hater or could it be Tony Yeboah - The Adolph Hitler???? LOL

I find myself in the same spot too! I love a true fractal and especially a true flame. Only every once in a while will I do a little extra to an image. I thought that the fractal window weekly was a chance for some of the rest of us to have a highlighted spot every once in a while, but I seem to keep seeing the same ones over and over just like the hot 20, which they really do wonderful work, but I would love to see some images that haven't been altered so much or all from the same programs.

Hi and welcome! Irfanview is a great freeware and it's simple to use. I use it to resize, color enhancement, titles, borders and slide shows. I find it difficult to predict what will be liked, so I post images that I like. Everyone here has been very kind and helpful, I'm sure that you will find a lot of people who can help with what ever you need to know. Also go to the free stuff section here and look for the fractal section. There are several starter flames there that is a big help to get started. Good luck, Patti (AAA aka Apophysis Art Addict)
