Thread: Hmm, new to V8 Studio | Forum: Vue
Quote - i7 920, 6g ram, Win7 64bit.
A few parts are visible but the rest are not in both, I guess they are there as the objects are listed in the imported group.
Unfortunetly most are not visible?
Doesnt seem to matter what import options I choose.
Opened up the textures just in case something was different with the invisible objects, but cant see anything different?Never had this with version 7.
There are 2 possibilities I know of:
are the objects grouped in different layers? I had the exact same behaviour when IÂ cleaned up a scene and moved things into a sub-layer. The objects moved into sublayers were only visible when I selected that layer with the mouse.
play around with the OpenGL settings.

Thread: Vue8 RenderUp Standalone process priority? | Forum: Vue
Quote - Nah! do the math as I did in my first post: 512x512=262144 pixels in total, then 4096x4096(which is 4 times bigger, so quadruple)=16777216 pixels in total
Then divide those numbers and you get 64 times more polygons, so if a 512 render takes 3mn, a 4096 will take 196mn.
512x4 = 4096?
Thread: Vue8 RenderUp Standalone process priority? | Forum: Vue
Quote - I quadruple the size (16k x 16k) and attempt to render it using standalone (because it won't render with the UI running) which I expect to take approximately 4 times longer. It's been running for 6hours so far and the console window is showing "Rendering... 55.43%" (it started at 50%).Â
Your assumption (4x time) is correct.
Your problem is that from a certain size your computer runs out of (physical) RAM and uses virtual memory from the page file.
Access to this memory is MUCH slower, because it resides on your disk drive.
Workarounds:
Best: more RAM :)
2nd best: go to render options and set the areas to render. I've never done this, but in theory (ahem) you should be able to split your render into smaller parts.
2nd best, part 2: use a local RenderCow and reduce the tile size enough to avoid the use of virtual memory. That's what I do when things become too slow.
3d best: place your page file on the fastest drive available.
Thread: Dual Boot PC Seperate Drives? | Forum: Vue
Quote - Hi
I'm doing a dual boot system adding Win 7 Pro so I can run Vue 8 complete nicer.
1:With comp off, Unplug drive c ( I don't want to mess that up)
That's exactly how I would NOT do it .
Windows 7 is (compared to older Windows versions) quite good in recognizing what other operating systems need to be accessible.
Leave the disk in, make a custom installation and Windows 7 will automatically add the option to boot into your old OS. Just double check that you REALLY have selected the new drive for Windows 7
I did this with a Windows XP and a Windows Vista system without any problems.

Yes can you try that at the ultra setting.
That's good to know, sounds like my current Mobo can live a while longer:)
Also can you double those settings to 12000X8000 and still be problem free?
When IÂ use your 3:2 aspect ratio the largest image IÂ can render locally without a warning is 7700x5133 pixels. At ultra setting!

Thread: Render size help Vue 8? | Forum: Vue
Quote - Hi Crowing I just meant change render size in the render size settings to 6000 x4000 so that the rendered file would wind up being that size.
Hope hat helps
Thanks
Did that without any problems. Settings were 6000x4000, 'Render to Screen', 'Preview quality'.
Vue 8, Windows 7 64 bit, 8 GB RAM.
If you want IÂ can test higher quality settings later today.
Thread: Have to synch up with E-onsoftware everytime I use Vue 7 Pro Studio | Forum: Vue
If you're on Vista or Windows 7 start Vue as administrator to enter your serial.
Next you run it (as 'normal' user) it will have remembered the activation code.
Thread: Render size help Vue 8? | Forum: Vue
Quote - Can someone running Vue Complete 8 on a windows 7 64 or Vista 64 OS with 8 gigs of ram
start a render of the scene fine " Peaking Through" which is on Vue 8 Extras disk>Scenes>Samples3Before you start rendering, convert it to a 6000 by 4000 scene. Don't make any other changes. Then hit render.
IÂ have a suitable machine, but how do I convert the size of a scene?
I know IÂ can change the render size in the render settings, but this doesn't change the original scene.
What do you mean exactly?
Thread: NOOB... Vue7.5 External Renderer problems. | Forum: Vue
Quote -
Do you have happen to know if the Vue8 release version would be capable of rendering a 32k x 32k image?
The main problem would be the computer on which Vue is running. If it can hold the scene, the network RenderCows are NOT the problem, because you can adjust the tile size which are submitted to the RenderCows. For extremely complex scenes (which need a lot of memory to render) I simply decrease the tile size until:
a: the RenderCow PC itself can handle it without crashing
b: in the best case no virtual memory is needed on the RenderCows. This speeds up rendering.
Of course with smaller tiles there's more network overhead, so a Gigabit ethernet connection is recommended.
Thread: NOOB... Vue7.5 External Renderer problems. | Forum: Vue
Quote - The batch rendering dialog reports "Scheduled" status for the job. Nothing gets rendered :(...  Â
IÂ didn't see anything in the documentation suggesting the external renderer does not work in the PLE version.
Everything seems to me to be correct: RenderCows are reported and 'Idle', job gets scheduled. Next thing should be a status change to 'Initializing'.
But: www.e-onsoftware.com/try/vue_7_ple/ says: "The PLE is for personal, non-commercial use only, files cannot be exchanged with other PLE users and are not compatible with other versions of Vue, network rendering is disabled, renders may be watermarked and carry a logo".
Thread: How much memory can I get? | Forum: Vue
Quote - google for "crucial memory" they have a memory configurator that tells you how much memory your motherboard can support.
I just tested one of my motherboards and the result of their memory configurator was wrong. About 100% wrong.
So take the results with a grain of salt....
