Thread: Poser and photoshop layers | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I do it by saving as a tiff with a black background, then going to the 'Select' menu in Photoshop, then 'load selection' - it automatically selects the alpha channel, then I simply copy 'n paste on to a new layer. Simple pimple!

I'm another one of the 22 - and thanks so much! I haven't had a chance to work with her yet, as I got 'stuck' in the pub yesterday, and am sufferng for it this morning - hopefully I'll get a chance to play this afternoon, after the painkillers have kicked in!
Thread: Challenge wip..which way to go | Forum: Bryce
chohole, I know that there's nothing that anyone can say which will make this better, but I am so sorry to hear your news, and believe me when I say you'll be in my thoughts. If by any chance it's Ireland that you're coming to, let me know if there's anything at all I can do. Jo
Thread: being 21 is great :) | Forum: Bryce
I remember my 21st birthday, I was working in a joke shop at the time (true). That was 23 years ago - where did those years go? Where did the joke shop go? Where did these wrinkles come from? Enjoy your 22nd year - it's a great time of life - superseded only by your 40s! Something to look forward to, then!

Poor Anton - you have my sympathy, especially as I'm nursing a broken finger myself at the moment (right hand/mouse hand). I couldn't use the 'puter for a whole week (although I tried, of course!). Very frustrating!Hoping your recovery is swift, and your pain is minimal.
Thread: OT....................I need a hug | Forum: Bryce
Hugs from me too - I know how scary eye thingies can be - was diagnosed with raised eye pressure (precursor to glaucoma) earlier this year myself. I'm now paranoid about developing tunnel vision, but I seem to be OK so far! Back for another check up in February. Keeping fingers (but not eyes!) crossed. Hope all goes well with you!

Jus wanted to say that I'm sorry to see you go Lyrra, and I'm off to do battle with registration at Rendervisions to see if I can finally get in there again (it thinks I'm already a member, but I have no idea under what email addie!). Wonder if this'll push Rendervisions higher in the R'osity webring? (cough, cough). See you there!
Thread: Merry christmas to all (Nollag Shona duit) | Forum: Bryce
Nollaig Shona a Chohole agus beannachti na fle, agus athbhliain faoi mhaise duit! (Yeah, I'm just showing off!)
Thread: Christmas Freebie!! (goes great with Trav's tree..) | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
The tree skirts are lovely - but I'm intrigued - I've never seen (or heard of) a tree skirt in reality - are they an American thing, or have I just been leading a sheltered life?
Thread: Third time lucky re artists' own comments? | Forum: Community Center
Thanks for fixing it - I was beginning to think it was somehow something really complicated to do!
Thread: Do you think that an image created with vue d'esprit and poser is art? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
This is a bit like asking 'if it's written using MicroS*** Word, is it literature?'. All depends on the end product, not the medium.

Thread: Does posing ever get easier? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
When I'm posing figures, I spend a lot of time trying to get myself into the position I'm tying to put the model in, and working out which of my joints is bending which way. That's how I discovered that Mungo is right - there's no way to twist your hand without twisting your lower arm - unless you dislocate it! (And I won't go that far, not even for Art's sake!). I find that most poses start from the hips, and that it's important to balance the figure on either side of the vertical (so they don't fall over!) - eg, if the hip is rotated to the left, the rest of the body needs to rotate over to the right, so there is equal weight on each side (although of course there are gradations in this - if the head, for example, is also bent to the left, then the body needs to go even more left, and so on). If course, if your figure is SUPPOSED to be falling over, this doesn't apply! Also, as far as the head goes - heads don't always point the same way as the eyes - if you fix the eyes on a point, you can bend the head and neck without changing where the eyes seem to be looking. Makes all the difference to portraits!
Thread: Our own comments can change ranking "Most commented" | Forum: Bryce
Yeah, I've noticed this, too, and reported it (twice) in the Admin forum (whatever it's called nowadays, Community Center or something). The Powers That Be should be aware of it, but it seems beyond their capabilities to fix it! (Either that, or they just haven't found time in the past month or so to take care of it, who knows?)
