Yep! but I know that E-on is working on this or will soon do and I just heard there is a 4.03 version in the works. :) Cheers!
Thread: OpenGL problem SOLVED !!! | Forum: Vue
Yeah it's definately an issue with Vue since the 3dlabs card is to date the best OpenGL cards I have tested, I even reinstalled Vue yesterday to see if it would work and I tried the CD version of vue and then 4.02 and it's the exact same thing. Honestly, I would like to see their OpenGL implementation tweaked considerably, it's really fast to manipulate the terrains but there is no detail on the meshes! :( Cheers!

Cool...now I am using a 3dlabs Wildcat II and it doesn't work that great. Good thing I am getting a QuadroDCC next week! :) Thanks for the news. Cheers!

WinXP is great but if you have win2k SP2 and it works fine then no need to upgrade. :) Cheers!
Thread: Vue 4 under Windows XP ???? | Forum: Vue
I might have been the one talking about Vue and WinXP a few weeks ago. It does have slight glitches but it's mostly due to drivers from video cards, had some artifacts in some cases with my GeForce2 and now with the 3dlabs Wildcat II 5000 the OpenGL in Vue is screwed up...could be the card and it's compatibility with vue though. I run XP RC2, will order the release upgrade as soon as I get the cash, it's by far the best OS out of Redmond and I loved win2k since it's early days too. :) XP is the only OS that not only installed ALL my devices but also had them all working perfectly...no problem whatsoever with the VIA chipset and the SBLive! card. :) Cheers!
Thread: Loading in multiple USGS DEM's (1:24000 scale) | Forum: Vue
Hmmm...I used Wilbur in the past but not enough to notice the size limit, I was sure it was 256x256 but I might have been wrong. the beauty of Terragen is that you can load a 4096x4096 terrain from 3DEM...I wish we could have an export to Vue from within 3DEM then it wouldn't be a pain to import dozens of merged DEM's! :) Cheers!

I must say that no software beats Terragen for DEM's, they are always flat on the edges and you can merge dozens of them to create a huge terrain. WorldBuilder, Vue 4 and Bryce 5 all have problems with edges which is wierd since 3DEM/TG can do the job in no time and perfectly for so little money. Wilbur has a resolution/size limit no? Cheers!

Yep the latest is the QuadroDCC which I should get pretty soon. :) I had problems with my GeFroce2 GTS and the latest detonators and I installed a 3dlabs Wildcat II 5000 and Vue is finally working fine again! :) Cheers!

Hi Guitta, Here it is in QuickTime version and it's 2.20Mb...the motion is a little bit jerky due to the frame rate and data compression levels, which seems to be more present than in the DivX Version. It's a quick test and it's far from being a Hollywood animation :) Cheers!Thread: Bryce 5 Review | Forum: Bryce
Hey all, You are right in saying I wrote what I wrote in each articles...I reviewed Vue 4 first, then got World Builder offered and finally I approached Corel to review Bryce. I should have mentionned that these will all be part of a comparison article, where I will even throw in Terragen since it was my favorite landscape generator for almost 2 years. I intended to do a massive comparison of all these softwares but I had to get them all first...I never heard back from 3D Nature so this is why I won't include WCS. I hope that making the comparison article it will sort of tweak my opinions and I must say that when I got World Builder and then Bryce, the previous software review was already obsolete. I will probably update all reviews later on since my readers can get a wrong impression regarding the software. Many of you might not know this but when you get a software for review you lack the manual and you have a very short period to learn the software and make an opinion as unbiased as possibleand when you have several software to review per week there is not a lot of time to elaborate on each of them if you know what I mean. I have seen so many generic reviews on the web and in magazines that I started to make quite elaborate reviews and it's 100% sure that there will always lack informations in my reviews since there is no way you can write an extremely detailed review in such a short time. I did notice I forgot to mention several of Bryce's features, and I apologize but it's like this in all of my reviews and I always mention to visit the company's site for a complete list of features. Hope all is clear now because I am already late in my work! :) Cheers!

Hi Guitta, I can upload the Cinepak AVI version without any sound and edditing but it will be bigger than the DivX version. Cheers!

Hey jval, I guess you were one of the few in here that got my point. why would Corel be happy with my review if they were as pissed as the loyal fans? I just don't get it but I know that it's far easier to criticize than to write the article itself. I shall wait and see when they write reviews just to see how they'd do it. :) brycetech, no offense but did you realized you pointed me to a review of Bryce from a Bryce biased site? Just my 2 cents...have a look at the variety of articles we have just to compare. Cheers!

Hey Guitta, Here is one: http://www.cgfocus.com/AnimDetails.cfm?AnimID=55 It requires the DivX 4.x Final CODEC though. Cheers!
