Yes, we did a full shot from a scen that took 7 hours to shoot! There will be a 7 minutes scene with lot of effects that I am working on. Most things done in Carrara like the kid in the light and other effects also.
I am learning the particles yet, its very powerfull and can do a lot of things without much work!

Here is something I am working now, its a little trailler done in two days, using HitFilm, Carrara and Poser content. I also use it to edit my images like we do with layers in Photoshop because HF use a non destructive effects and I can adjust all lyears very easy.

I used some aniblocks converted from BVH and add changes by hand creating another aniblock with hand key frame without problem. Was a simple walk in BVH that I converted to aniblock and after that I need that the character give a goodbye with hands and I did another aniblock only for the arm and hand, and work s fine.

Mark is right, people always try to mimic things like in real life in one shot. Start with basic key frames, for a simple walk 3 key frames are a good start, so start to refine them with more details. Use loops, dont try to animate someone walking along a line using all frames that you have, always use loops and clips to mix movements :

Hi people, I will take a look at the problem, but I saw that a lot of things are old there... I will update the system right now, so you can try again more later.
I really sorry for that, but its very hard to take control of a comunity like that without a way to pay my bills.

Thread: carrara concerns | Forum: Carrara
Hi I am here! The problem is the Carrara users in some way, they dont post nothing about theyr work in forums or other medias, its a very strange thing. I saw an article in ImageFX magazine (may 2013) with images from artist John Charles (England) that use Carrara for his work but didnt saw any comment about him in DAZ3D community.
Others artists that use Carrara profissionaly also still using it, but with a lot of work dont have time to take care of free sites like CarraraCafe. I started the projedt with DAZ3D and still do the backup and other adjust in it, but really after sometime I cant take care of it alone and without money, so I called a lot of friends and I think they are faccing the same problem with time and money. Take care of a site like that take a lot of time to get information, write and edit texts, create videos and things like that, so time is money and theres no money there but we still need to feed ours families.
I think also that Facebook let people lazy, they only want to enter in a place, post an image and gone. Its a real problem when people dont want to have a little more work to talk to people in forums.
I think the same happen to video tutorials, I did a lot fo them for free, working for DAZ3D and after they dispense all colaborators about 2 years ago, I think a lot of "helpers" give up from doing things for free.
Well the good thing is that DAZ3D is still working in Carrara anyway, but I think that is a very slow development now.
Carrara need some very serious addons to back to professional hands again. For example, I am working in a short movie and I have to create a lot of VFX shots for breaking walls, particles for smoke (like wizards in Harry Potter) and I have to get back to my old Lightwave 9.6 (yes I couldnt upgrade yet) to get the work better.
But in other hands Carrara is the main application to create the storyboard, where I could simple create a basic scenario from te movie and set the actor position using Vic and Mic very easy to plane the shots.
But I really hope to see more development for Carrara and really dont know what DAZ3D plans to version 9 (I think they still dont know also).
I think also that the major problem at DAZ3D this last two years was the creation of Genesis, that is a very good idea but I am getting lost with this new installer and smart content yet with Carrara. So they need to fix a lot of things and Genesis 2 born to do that and when thngs are fixed and stable they will put more money in Carrara development.

Thread: How to work with HUGE 3D Animation Scene files (Merging and Editing) | Forum: Carrara
Yes the traditional way, but I really like to do the storyboard to dont have to recreate things again. I use Hitfilm for post production and in a month I will show some amazing things with Carrara and live action... for now only the title:

I think the best way to work with lots of people or buildings or any othe rlarge scene is using layers or Planes.
You need to divide your scen into planes and render them in separeted shots, so use a good composite software to create the whole scene, even shadows need to be rendered as a new layers, o you can control them in the composite with blending, masks and gradients.

This is one of the both big problems in Carrara screen, the same happen with the Render Room, after a lot of test renders you end with a lot of windows open that take a lot of memory... working with shaders almost all day I got about 100 windows in the render room, so I need to save the scene, close Carrara and open it again.
