I have made similar ones like this one but Im currently making a collection of 50 poses so Im not ready to release them yet. Right now, Im on pose 25 or something like that so theres still a while left before its time for the release. However I could give you some advice that might help you on your way to creating the pose yourself. Here goes... If I should create this particular pose I would keep the IK on while I posed her legs. Also, keep the figure standing up. This will make things easier. It seems to me that one leg is just in front of the other and the right foot is a bit higher than the other. The normal poser models is quite swaybacked. For this particular pose, that is a good thing. Normally it isnt. Now, since youve all ready fixed her legs in a perfect pose to her hip, you shouldnt have to make any big adjustments to the hip. Just use a little "side to side" to make the right buttock go up a bit. Next is the abdomen. This part should have just a little "side to side" making the body straight again. We do this because she is probably tilting a bit from the hip-adjustment. Then, you give it a little "twist" (just a bit! The large twist comes later.) and maybe you have to use the "bend" to make her even more swaybacked. The chest is where the major "twist" is applied. Now you should be on your way to making the perfect pose. Finally, you have to rotate the collars. These are the hardest things to handle I think. The collars give you "more arm to work with" it also controls the armpits. This adjustment is very hard to do if you want to get a good result but it is actually the trick for getting the arms just right. Just one more... (piew!) Always use the sliders... never try and get this right by using the tools in the viewports. Hope that this "tutorial" will help you. Live well.. /Jacko

Have you been using a new modelling technique lately? My Poser crashed mostly when I had imported objects such as .3ds files in the scenes?

He he :-) Well, mesh-smooth is a modifier in MAX that basically adds more vertexes to your model making them smoother. Hmm, not as fancy as you do it but I seldom need more for my Posermodels. Then again... when you rock the foundations... I go hide in the bushes. :-) Bye, my faerie friend. /Jacko

Ive had them before. Not as terrible as you though, but my Poser has crashed during animations larger than 30 frames. This happened using a computer with 128 MB RAM, and 32 MB graphics card. I havent had these problems since I upgraded to 4.02 and then later 4.03 so you might want to try that if you havent done that yet. I suspected that it had something to do with the programs way of memory handling so I didnt pay much mind but if upgrading doesnt work... try rendering animations a little bit at a time. Thats what I did. Live well.. /Jacko

Dont worry! Ive reinstalled a thousand times and as PhilC says, everything stays intact. My runtime-lib is about 1GB now so its quite boring to back up. However, PhilC is right. Youve got to make backups! Never trust a computer and its feeble parts. Live well.. /Jacko

Thats right, my Lady! Its all in the texture and transparency maps. Once you get the hang of how they work you wont have any problem creating your own. You can even get the "molded clay hairstyles" to look quite good. Live well.. /Jacko
Thread: POSER3 Free in a Magazine? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
The same thing happened to me a couple of years ago.. I got a version of Poser 1 for free and decided that I just had to buy Poser 2. Then, just as Ive installed the Poser 2 program and was surfing around, I saw that Poser 3 had just come out in the US. :-) But you're lucky! Poser 4 is as you know far more advanced and when you see all that it can do you won't have any regrets. I would have waited until Poser 5 came, though. :-) Live well.. /Jacko

Spoken like a true pro, Thorne! I didnt understand half of the things you wrote about.. hehe... I would have settled for mesh-smooth and some photoshop refinements. Live well... /Jacko

Just make the texture and hit the "render-button"... :-) Just kidding! But it actually is just that "easy". First you make, scan or find a proper skin texture and you work and work on it in whatever program you find desirable. (Photoshop, Paintshop Pro, Photopaint etc...) When the texture is ready you apply it to your model. Now keep in mind that Ive never managed to make anything that I can call "photo realistic" but I know that its possible. Live well.. /Jacko

Hi Jody! I think your picture is going to look quite cool when its finished. Now, youve probably already thought of this but since you wanted comments... you got them... The girl is standing next to a black screen. Is there going to be anything on that screen later? Maybe a commercial of some sort? The city is a bit too dark, I think. It looks like nobody lives there at all yet it appears to be a city that should be teaming with life. But as I said before, youre not finished yet. Please contact me when you are. Live well.. /Jacko
Thread: materiaals question please help!! | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
If you use the materials-menu under the render-menu you wont have this problem. Same thing goes for props at least when it comes to saving them in pz3-format. /Jacko
