The Glass was Half Full
Accuse me of being too chipper?
Well I guess I can live with that.
Call me too positive and upbeat?
Well, I suppose I got that down pat.
There's no mistaking the smile,
I am definitely not full of bull.
You think I am too cheerful for you?
Well, I do think the glass is half full.
Title: Can You See What I See?
Thread: Poetry in Motion | Forum: Writers
Whispers in the Woods
I sit in the forest of my mind,
and urgently seek an answer.
My body is wracked with cancer,
the end of my life fully outlned
How do I cope with this pain?
I ask of the whispers in the air.
I curse this disease, my bane,
It has taken from me my hair.
I rise and slowly make my way,
heading for home and my bed.
I struggle to keep the agony at bay,
my questions still in my head.
But I do not need an answer though;
I know that it is my time to die.
Oh how I wish it wasn't my time to go,
But on to the next adventure, there go I.
Figured I'd give it a shot...

Thread: March Writing Challenge - Prophecy | Forum: Writers
Well, I'm new to submitting for these writer's challenges so I'm not entirely sure where to submit them...I did it here and i posted it in my gallery just to be on the safe side though...
Deep in the night air I pause to consider,
the fact that I may have reason to pause.
In my world prophecies are reviled,
to have made one is to break our laws.
I sit in the night and wonder what to do,
the wondering threatens me to tears.
What should I do? What can I do?
How shall I overcome my mortal fears?
For the law's answer to any who speak,
is a cold, unfeeling execution of death.
And yet I must for the greater good of all,
I must speak, I must, with my last breath.
Let death be my companion, I will speak;
Let my life end, if speaking be the ending of it.
They can come and commit their violence,
I will no longer sit here idle playing the hobbit.
I will accomplish what must be, damn the cost.
I will be silent no longer, nor chained.
They cannot control nor can they stop me.
I will speak, let the floor be blood-stained.
I do not possess the prophecy, no one can,
For the prophecy was given freely to share.
I do not possess my own life, no one can,
For life is given us freely, for any who dare.

Hey all, I'm new to the writer's gallery so be easy on me...Six words, eh? Well, here is some I can think of:
1) But honey, I've changed!!
2) You can't catch me!
3) An honest politician speaks.
4) The blood stain won't come off.
