I set up separate versions for P4(only) that use .bum files. The ProPack and above version uses .jpg's. Honestly I've been going over the files I can't see the forest for the trees anymore. Svdl - I'll send you a link to the item's zip. Thanks much!

My hat's off to you for being willing to post it open-source!!! Ah, if only I could afford a server of my own and the co-location cost... Having worked with a lot of open-source software, I'm pleased to see the idea come here to the world of 3d modelling. I hope you can find a place and some people willing to contribute. My modelling skills aren't quite up to the level of making an organic model yet, but props and accessories I can do... if you were thinking perhaps a character with his/her own line of stuff to go along with.

Oh cool! I have photoshop, but I've been using Corel PhotoPaint. Mostly 'cause I just haven't gotten myself to go through the hassle of uninstalling it, and that I've used it for so long I know it pretty well. I can do the above in PhotoPaint as well. I'll give it a try. Hadn't thought of doing that. ;)

I'm using P4 with ProPack. (Two 10 year olds keep causing me to spend the money I keep trying to save up for upgrading...) Okay, darker background ; I'll experiment with a castle ; and I'll try to get better reflection / metal-ness for the armor and weapons. I'll try the other recommendations as well. Thank goodness I keep incremental saves - wm1, wm2, etc. Again, Thanks all! And when I get home tonight I'll give some things a try.

Hmm... I'll have to experiment with that. I think the strap has enough polygons in it I could get it to morph that much. The parent would need to change to the (back of the) chest for that. I'll see what I can do... :)
Thread: How you deal with Helmets, Caps or Hoods? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I usually make a transparency from the hair's template. I usually have to experiment with it a bit, but I eventually get it so that the hair poking out is made invisible. Another thing I've done is render the image twice - one with the hat/cap and one without. Then I use PhotoPaint or PhotoShop to composite the two and do a little 'smugding' around the hat's band to make it look like the hair gets squished in under the cap band.
