Lux did open. It found the scene file once I figured out I had to make one...lol. As for a log, I've no idea where that is found.

Sorry to go a bit off track here..
I decided to try Lux and downloaded it...at least I think I got everything. Got the manual and it tells me that there is a Simple and Advanced interface, but mine only has the advanced, and I can't find anywhere to go to Simple. The File button doesn't have it either and it's the only button on there. I thought I had figured out how to export, save scene, etc. But when I tried to load the scene to render, nothing happened.

I don't know what to do now.
Thread: Candle wax in P9/PP2012 | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Quote - For those who may have already downloaded this, I've updated the zip. It now loads at the correct size. I used BB's shader, but changed it a tiny bit.. the candle came out a tiny bit too "translparent" to my tastes. I was going for ... uhm I don't know the name of that candle material in English. The Translater just says "candles" - but it's not wax - it gets sorta hard and brittle when it has been melted.. hopefully you guys know what I'm thinking of?
It's a little less transparent than wax anyway.
Thanks for the help :D

Poser 7 does have an ini file.
Poser.ini, along with LibraryPrefs.xml can be found in user>AppData>Roaming>Poser 7. I found a Poser UI Prefsxxxxx.xml is likely the Poser UI Prefs_1400x1050.xml that I found in the English folder in the same place as the other files, where "xxxxxx" is the dimensions.Â
Thread: Question on Waldemar Belwon and his light sets... | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Waldemar is an excellent teacher on lighting. I just opted for this deal and have so far found it very informative. At present, I've not tried anything yet, but plan to do so on a render I did recently where my lighting wasn't quite right. He does send out quite a few emails for sure, but I just ignore what I'm not interested in.Â
I have some of his earlier lightsets for DAZ Studio, but Studio won't render on this pc (never could figure out why) so I dove into poser and learned how to use it. This training is supposed to be usable in any 3d program, which is why I decided to get it. He does know his stuff and is a photographer in real life.Â
The deal also gives access to his forums on lighting (and more).
Not trying to sell this or anything, just giving my opinion. It's up to you if you want to go for it.

AO can be applied to everything in your scene, but doing so can add to render time. Easiest way is to apply it to the lights.

I also noticed that if you float the doc window, you can't do anything at all. What's the point of that?
Thread: Poser 8 Question | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Funny, after reading this thread, I had this happen to me last night. When I tried to move the library window around after making it floating, the right side 'stuck' to the right of the screen and only resized larger when I tried to move it. When I let it go, it docked above the doc window as in the OP's screenshot above. Messing around with it, I wound up with a tiny doc window and had to go into preferences to set poser back to default. That fixed it for me, but I don't think I'll be doing much floating with the ui anymore, even though it's cluttered, imo.
