So you installed into a folder on another drive you named "DAZ Content" then? So when you use Content Library inside DS, and this is a newb question so bear with me, but how does Content Library know where to find it? You just configured it to read all DAZ content from something other than C Drive?

Also, how is it working for you? If I want to mimic the lighting effect of a couple of bedside lamps that happen to be in a backdrop photo I'm using, should I choose the 60w light bulb shader and place it nearby, just out of the scene? Or maybe in the scene where the lamps are seen in that backdrop photo?

Yes, I've heard the actual rendering with IRay doesn't actually end, just keeps rendering forever like the Reality system.

But the settings were what I was asking about. Before you hit the Render button.

But for later on, when I want to try IRay, where's a good place to find settings for that? Is there a good consolidated general rule list for low to medium, high & insanely high render quality for that?

On a related subject, kinda, how do you get out of the Full Screen Mode(in 4.8)? Talking about the main Viewport pane in the center where my scenes are. I couldn't figure out how to do that last weekend & had to Ctrl-Alt-Del out of DS altogether.

To me CF is & always will be Compact Flash. I don't understand DAZ & Poser Speak very well.

Thanks for that info Bejaymac. I've already accepted the fact now that I'll be starting all over again with the character originally created in .daz format, and now moving forward saving everything in .duf. Now some of the old preset files I've found still work, but will henceforth be saving all presets in .duf as well.

I did a search on my comp as you suggested, and it turned up nothing. So I can't understand it. Surely the V4 that DS powerloads & installs(and it does) must have those parts within itself or default V4 from 4.8 would never successfully load, as it does. I've tested it.

Unless those older files have become corrupted somehow. But all of them? I have them backed up on several different drives. From 2+ years ago. Is it simply the old .daz format simply not being compatible?

Thanks. I believe I got ...SQL installed from DIM finally, but never could get the V4 content(with the PC monitor & Windows Administrator shield logo)to install from DIM, so I went back to my previous manually downloaded versions & installed manually.

The question is though, I installed all that manually before I finally got PostgreSQL installed from DIM. It was installed afterwards. Will opening my previous V4 DAZ scene files from 2+ years ago work or do I need to uninstall all DAZ V4 related stuff from 4.8 and start all over again?

SQuiggLe is a utility not content, it will install where the other programs install.

I believe I installed it in Program Files/DAZ 3D/DAZ Studio 4. Would that be correct then?
