Quote - You said "I have an i7-920 and 8gb of RAM, but Poser will rarely get more than 50% usage out of it, wasting a lot of hardware power. If anyone knows a way around this please let me know, I'm sure it would help the OP as well."
mine can take 100% of cpu/system usage, maybe because i render in highresolution (1080p) animation.
Quote - I have a total of 24 cores in my main pc (2 12 core xeons) and Poser 8 and Poser Pro 2010 will run 100% cpu utilization on win7 64. What OS are you running?
pretty very lucky person, shall you make this test (banchmark poser), i'd really really really like to see how much you can perform with your high-end hardware :

by advance, thank.
Thread: does the opengl render is better (or changes) with a better nvidia video card ? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
well i tried it...
but it didn't change one thing (in my eyes).
why this changes must be update only the preview and not the final render (firefly) ?
cause the firefly is perfect (no need to tweak t)

Quote - You could post a screen capture of the (advanced) material room for the dress, so that we could see the nodes. Then perhaps one of us can diagnose it and suggest a change which will allow the preview to display the texture better.
here it is :

thanks you seachnasaigh for your details.
Poser Options are already set in this way, and yes i have the green little message too !
I also well set the Figure Display style to 'Shaded' too !
i tried Sreed mode too, but nothing get the result i need (put the textured on the dress (MFD for Aiko)!
The dress still remain in transparency!
And by the way, i wonder why the Sreed mode make lights raytracing effects (super!) whereas my hardware opengl does not ?
See the photo i attached to this topic, first one is my actual opengl harder render, second one is Sreed, and last one...is the firefly.

Quote - The answer is: NO
Is is a strict No or a maybe No ?
Cause , like i said in my full problem there
http://www.aikoscence.com/home/18-technical-points/17-opengl-render-versus-cpu-render-.html
Before i had low cost ati card video card, and a mid-cost nvidia card now, the quadro produces better opengl render than my ex ATI card !
why a better quadro card will not produce better opengl ?
Thread: idea for a new drop to floor python script | Forum: Poser Python Scripting
Thread: how to apply DROP TO FLOOR to any frame of the animation ? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
thank you PhilC ! the first plan just solved my problem !
my day will be good now !
ps: there is a tiny bug in the included script in poser : once apply, the first (current) frame is not refresh at screen, so , first feeling is to think that did not work but it work, just have to avance +1 the frame or previous and you see the good result !
Thread: idea for a new drop to floor python script | Forum: Poser Python Scripting
by the way, i search for a way to apply DROP TO FLOOR FEATURE to the WHOLE animation, so to each frame. do you know how to do that ?
Thread: Where can we find a renderfarm for poser pro 2010 ? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
hi !
i'm scared you didn't understand me well, or i have a bad expression in english (i'm french).
I don't want to build a business around renderfarm and make the world pay for it to use it...
no !! i am in the other side : i need a renderfarm to render my project (yes it is poser animation 720p resulotion), and i am OK to pay for that powerness service!
i actually own too a huge hardware (core i7-975) but it is sill a leak when you begin to need any great render in firefly in 720p resolution with 50i/s.
i will need a renderfarm 10x or 20x powered that my lone computer to make me gain TIME !
Let me dream (or imagine the futur), if i want gain 10x time what do i need considering my actual config :
well actually i have :
1 cpu with 4 cores , running at 3.33GHz and can be threaded so 16 x 3.33Ghz so 54 Ghz in total of power in Core i7 architecture.
i want and need 10x better, so 540Ghz in the same architecture.
Higher CPU of the market is the xeon 7500 with 8 cores of 2.66GHz and threadable.
One xeon 7500 = 8cores x 2thread x 2.66Ghz = 42.56 Ghz.
As the xeon 7500 and the core i7 were based on the same generation and technologie, i could easy compare them mathematicaly speaking.
540 / 42.56 = 13 cpu xeon 750
Actualy, the most powerful motherboard for xeon 7500 can have only 2 sockets for xeon 7500 so i need :
6 computers with 2 cpu and one last with one cpu only (which i add the network, software and stuff elements to build that renderfarm) .
Let's pricing that :
13 cpu xeon 7500 = ..................arf ! G...damn it ! i can't even manage to find the market price of a xeon 7500 on google !!!!! i am wondering if it is in sale or not...moreover i hear intel will out the 10 cores in next months....
Well, whatever, the total price to gain 10x is very very expensive , i guess and hope less than 20K€ (if someone could compute the right sum...)
End of the dream, that why i shall easily pay a render farm...
:-)
ps : all the stuff i need, if someone can find the prices :
.....well well well....maybe 10 core i7-980 based computers renderfarm could cost less than this xeon renderfarm....

Thread: How to auto-save the render image you done ? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
thank you all of you guys but i found another way better user-friendly :
I installed Hypesnap and made a simply screen cap. Hypersnap can localise a specific area and autosave with incremential file number, just by hitting one key !
Problem is solved !
