Thread: batch processing | Forum: Photoshop
Not sure if I understand your problem, but something tells me you should decrease the image size first (cmd+i) and lower the dpi resolution while recording the action. When you then save for web you can also lower the file size by selecting medium or low jpeg quality. Those settings will than be repeated when you batch the lot...
Hope this helps...
Thread: PC Adobe PDF readable in Mac? | Forum: Photoshop
Portable Document Format rarely fails when going from PC to Mac or vice versa, although Photoshop PDF is kinda tricky at times...
Quote - Hey, changed your avatar...very cool! Using motion capture files?
Well, the transition is kinda rough to be honest, seems to skip a few frames in the loop...
Don't wanna come off as an *sshole here, but you must have noticed that yourself, right?
Thread: Is the upgrade from Photoshop CS2 to CS3 extended worth the money???????? | Forum: Photoshop
I would google to find out what the 'new and improved' features where back when they went from 2 to 3 and see how they would help you. Since they're up to CS4 now, I'm not sure how much money the previous version still would go for and if it would be worth it...
I went from CS to CS3, so I don't know about CS2 differences.
Apart from the 9 to CS release, I always skipped one. I have 3 now and although the improved 3D engine in CS4 is tempting, I keep telling myself these new features will only get better the longer we give Adobe to perfect them. So I'm skipping this one and go for 5 when it gets out...
Good luck with your decision and happy holidays!
Mike

I have a suspicion they had that logo custom made... Chances are there's no such font available for us mere mortals...

Well... What you want is possible, very possible even, but it will take some time to do it good. Since none of us have offered to have a go at it yet, (neither will I, sorry dude, but my time is money;-), I suggest you do the following;
Press ctrl+Shift+U (cmd+shift+U on mac) to make the image black and white. Then click ctrl (apple key on mac)+L to adjust the levels to get a nice greyscale image. If you only want black and white (no grey), use Filter;Sketch;Photocopy and adjust if needed.
Use the clone stamp to get rid of the handles. Selecting a similar area, pasting it over the handles and softening the edges with the Erase tool and adjusting the colour/brightness would probably be better, but harder, so try the Clone Stamp tool first for that. Use alt+click to select the area you want to clone and then 'paint' over the handles.
As for the lettering... I would do that afterwards in Illustrator with the Type on a Path tool by placing the manipulated image and then create a circle and click on it with the type tool. I'm not sure how to do this in ps, but there must be a way, after all, there always is...
I kinda feel bad for brushing you off like this by sort of telling you to go figure it out yourself, but you're asking for quite a lot here. Most of us learned the trade by trial and error and I honestly believe that that's the best way to learn. So here's my final advice; lock yourself up inside for two or three days, google your *ss off, try, fail, try again, fail a couple a more times and you'll eventually get what you want, you'll see...
Good luck

Thread: New Merman Update | Forum: 3D Modeling
Love the way you've modeled the shoulders and arms. Not sure about the hands, they look a bit too aquatic-bird like I think. It also looks like he could use a dorsal fin on his back and some fin-like features on the arms, but you probably haven't gotten to those details yet, something tells me you get that kinda detail stuff done once you're in ZBrush...
Keep going...

Quote - Zbrush vs Mudbox?
Which of this software do you prefer.
ZBrush by far. Mudbox gets you further at first and the right skills allow you to do magical things with it, but ZBrush RULES! Once you get past the 'what the hell' interface, you'll be producing grade A art in no time, trust me...
Of which "normal" 3d modeling software are most easy to use for a begginer?
Lightwave and Modo are my favourite modelers. Check them out...
Good luck!
Thread: PS CS3 problem with "image size" menu | Forum: Photoshop
Not sure... I remember when I started working in ps (7 I think), I encountered spontanious freezes on my old G4 when I had just switched to osx. After some surfing I discovered I needed a firmware update... Since your mac is one of the newer ones, that can't be the problem though. I would contact Adobe...

Quote - I did a check on that blender and was able to download it, so I'll mess around with that until I get a grasp as to what I'm doing before investing alot of money into this.
Before you spend any money on one or two 'mayor' apps, try these free trial versions available online: Lightwave; http://www.newtek.com/lightwave/lwtrial/ Cinema 4D; http://www.maxon.net/pages/download/downloads_e.html Maya; http://usa.autodesk.com/adsk/servlet/index?siteID=123112&id=7639525 There's more, but this should get you a prety good idea about what's around to play with... Thread: How to paint an anus | Forum: Photoshop
@ Twisted Symmetry; "This thread is my finger? I don't get it... Explain." The reply implies you shoved your finger up this (ass)thread and should not complain about the stench since you voluntarely joined the thread... It's a joke... All you need to do is laugh... @ Hawkfyr; Love the way you keep your 'let's all get along' motto going. Both your good intentions and your eagerness to help out, along with your insight/intelligence make you once more a great online asset... Respect dude... @ Inshaala; stop acting like a grown up. You seem smart enough to realise we are all kiddies trying to stay sane (enough) in this great candy store called internet... Live with it... @ Ripley; Send me an Instant Message if you're still interested about creating a realistic anus on a Poser texture in psd. I will either send you a texture with the anus on it, or a tutorial explaining how you should go about it... Let me know wich one you would like... Grtz
