I'm with you Cobaltdream!
The lack of muscular morphs when I paid for a Morph pak is a complete oversight on Daz's part. Like what the heck were they thinking? Also, why can't we scale specific body-parts anymore?
Likewise, I don't think Daz has been paying much attention to the community as of late: they should have added another foot bone, (aka  EF characters), it makes for far better foot posing and animation weighting.
All in all, I'm not impressed with V4. I incorporated many of these 'new V4 features' into my characters ages ago: nothing evolutionary here.
Sorry, V4 is just a big let-down IMHO.
As far as V3 to V4 clothes....
I've had mixed results with WW, but Phil C does have another product called OBJ2CR2 file converter. I'm sure he will have V4 supported soon enough which will allow content creator to quickly convert many of their pieces. (they will have to resize them of course, but this is usually a quick process).
Thread: What if you find that you prefer V3 to V4? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I think your post is rather ominous...
I purchased V4 and prefer V3 ten-fold.Â
Daz dropped the ball on V4 big-time. She doesn't have nearly the same amount of morphs as V3 did at launch, no way to scale specific body-parts, no phoneme morphs...etc.
Her morphs are organized a bit better and 'yes' her joints bend better, but V4 is hardly what I expected from a Daz character...In fact, they should have called her something other than Victoria...maybe 'Becky Beta' as she appears to have been launched way too early.
I wouldn’t be surprised if you see a very negative reaction from the community in the coming days…

Personally, I think it's absurd that Daz is only making these images available to Platinum Club members.
The rest of us (non-members), who spend money with DAZ, are somehow less worthy?
Thread: Where can I buy Poser or BVH Animations? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Quote - We've also been looking for some dance animations for a project.
We actually ordered  some kits from http://www.es3d.com/ (Eclipse Studios) but they NEVER delivered the animations...
Â
Sorry to hear that…
You know, that's the second time I've heard that in the past two days. A friend ordered from them and didn’t receive her order; but I have heard some good things about Eclipse so I wonder if they are having server issues?

Personally this is why I prefer to buy from places like Renderosity - as soon as you pay you get your downloads - no messing around.

Thread: Looking for Utility: Change foot angle/rotation across PZ2. | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
PhilC,
It took my brain a few minutes to figure it out - but worked like a charm!
Very clever trick - thanks again!

Hey, I'm having the same problem - what did you do to fix it? What did you change in Regional Settings? Thanks

You know I just came across this post. I had the same problem for years! I was never able to figure out and after several emails to DAZ - they never responded. Really turned me off to DAZ actually.

I can say with absolute certainty that I hate INJ's. They are a good idea for some cases, but utterly useless most of the time.
When creating a new character I usually load up all the morphs (I never know what I'll use) which does take some time, but my system is fairly fast (P4 3.4, 2Gb ram).
The only way to compress down the CR2 file size thereafter is spending hours removing all the morphs I haven't used. Using V3 ends up to be a far more time consuming process than using V2. In the end I think the entire point of using INJs is moot. Honestly, with a few expectations I believe V2 is a superior product and more user friendly that V3.
Oh, if you want to make a V3 or INJ based character for release in the Market Place it's a nightmare. Since we are not allowed to release the CR2 we are left to deal ReadScripts. I dont think DAZ3D was thinking about the community when this product was created.
Thread: Comic Girl Repost | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Hi there, Thanks a ton for all the feedback. I basically decided to remodel her from scratch - I didn't feel like bugging Blackhearted as he is probably busy with his own projects. I have completed the majority of major morphs and nearly finished the 'better feet' part of the package which will create better looking female feet with the new morphs that will better articulate the way feet point, arch and bend. Apart from that there are just some minor fixes and clean-up with Mesh. Here are the things planning for release: Character: Comic Girl with Comic like Head. Character: Comic Girl Body with Realistic Head. Clothing: Lingerie: Bra, Panties and Pump Sandals Clothing Casual: Shorts, T-Shirts, Boots. Hair: 2 hair props. Blunt short and Blunt Long Texture: Comic Girl Texture Poses: 4 Comic Like Poses I'm hoping that will be enough to satisfy people interested in purchasing her. Everything should be ready ina few weeks. I'll post some updates as I have them.
Thread: The Case for NOT Postworking Images | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
"The work that's done for television (or movies) has to be perfected as much as possible in the 3D environment as you probably know already, since painting over imperfections in photoshop, like can be done for still images, is not a realistic possibility. ;-)" You're kidding right? Inferno and Henry are both real-time broadcast/film quality painting and compositing systems. You can do EXACTLEY what you do in these systems that you can in Photoshop. I them everyday; Henry for broadcast work and Inferno for 2K film res files.
Thread: The Case for NOT Postworking Images | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
"Actually when you think about it, Postworked images should really belong in a 2D gallery since strictly the image is no-longer 3D (3D implies you can reproduce the image from any angle)" Well I see your point nothing is truly 3D. When you work on your computer in a 3D program you are approximating 3D space in 2D and previewing the results on a 2D monitor; the same applies for the visual mediums of film and broadcast. Even the film itself is heavily color timed to produce a more pleasant effect. If you can't grasp an object in the real-world then it's not 3D. If a person wants to showcase their modeling skills they can use a flat grey shader on their model and render in radiosity. If an artistic wants to demonstrate their entire skill-set and what they can do to improve and existing image that shows off talent. As a former VFX supervisor for film I can tell you that we never released a shot straight from a render - compositing (2D) was not only a necessity but is the most efficient means to merge, color correct and time various 3D elements. Nothing that looks good is real only imagined by the artist.
