I have a DSL connection and it took 15 minutes to download but a little less than that to load up and play online.
Good tut! Although I don't have SeaVue I learned some new things. Looks good to me.

Quote - Nice to follow a link and see porn, thanks....appreciated that a lot.
Porn? All I seen were little thumbnails of girls dressed the same wat as the poser models are dressed up here at Rendo. Yeah as I type this and look at the top of the page I see, well:
Which is Waaaay more than waht is coming up at that link.
I just can't believe how touchy people can get. Advisories over a word like Frick. Violence tags on pics of two vampires looking at each other? You know when I was a kid I would only look at the things that said "Don't Look". *It's like flashing a light at what might be unacceptable.
Porn huh? OK....*

Thread: DEM tutorial | Forum: Vue
In order for Vue to be able to use a DEM file it has to be converted to a USGS ASCII DEM file as far as I know. It's the way I have been doing it according to the tutorial I brought up wrote by "hclbaumbach", I believe. It works very well and doesn't take much time at all...
Here is an animation I made quite a while ago using the DEM of Mt. Bachelor:

I'll post images I made of Diamond Head in Waikiki and the Koolaus on Oahu.
But yes, one can basically use the USGS site as a Google Earth and download any part of the US and stuff into Vue without that much work...

Could someone kindly point me in the right direction for downloading the info/file from Google Earth to create a terrain in Vue Infinite? I shall look again at Google Earth, but from previous visits I do not recall having seen the relevant links/commands......
All help is much appreciated.
Kind regardsÂ
Hi,
I don't think you can download terrains from Google Earth...
I think what Checkthegate was saying was using the USGS dem site is Like using Google earth. To do that you will have to read the tutorial here:

I could never explain better than that tut...

Finally! I've been following you around trying to push this tut your way for several threads! Several forums! Glad I could help! You'll notice that the USGS site has changed a bit but the info is still valid...
Oh! Killer work you have been up to!! I hope you stick around and share your insights...Â

The thing that threw me off.....was I thought the DEM files (where basically converted tifs)...(they are not) DEM files not only create displacement but also the terrain...."SO LONG VUE TERRAIN EDITOR!"

Thread: OT (almost) - Your experiences of Vue under Vista | Forum: Vue
I've had zero problems with Vista. I run TweakVI with it also:

You can turn off that annoying user protection stuff at any time by just going into Control Panel/Security/User Acount Control and turn it off. You kind of have to when using TweakVI....
