Okay, got Pro now.
Since I got Botanica module on 3/31, I wrote E-On and asked if they would credit me for that towards the Pro upgrade, since the upgrade special started the following week.
They gave me a Credit to use, and now I have Pro.
I may be lost for the next couple of days playing with eco-systems... this is Sooooo much fun!
Thread: Stolen Images? Rutra,JCD,grafikeer,Fabrice etc. | Forum: Vue
I just got this email from the editor in cheif of PCGH website:
Quote:
*Hi Gregory,
Thanks for your mail. If you could do me a favor, pls post this statement in the mentioned thread so that all renderosity members can see my words.
Plase apologize for any inconveniences related to our article. We already depublished all articles with pictures from Renderosity and will investigate further so that no picture is visible on our website. We make sure that no pics from Renderosity will appear on our site in the future.
It was not our purpose to steal images from you although you might think that. The contrary was the case. We wanted to show the creativity and marksmanship of raytraced pictures as Intel puts this technique in the foreground.
If you have any questions left, feel free to contact me directly. Pls apologize again.
Kind regards,
Thilo Bayer

Well, in my email, I also cc'ed news@theregister.co.uk about the issue, and that site loves to rub Milennium copyright violations in the face of European sites :)

If you use Bable fish ( http://babelfish.altavista.com/Â ), you can put in a link and select translate from German to English and get the gist of the page and read the links in broken english.

At the bottom of the page, there is a "Copyright © 2008 by Computec Media AG" and the link goes to http://www.computec.de/. There is a link there at the bottom of the page for email.
Thread: Monsoon's Fire | Forum: Vue
Depends on which version of Vue you are using.
Version 4.x used to do this a lot with transparency mapped objects when there was volumetric lighting. From my own experimentation, this is resolved in version 6 (at least in Vue 6 Esprit).
What version of Vue are you using, and what type of lighting is hitting the objects?

Nope, not in Esprit. I only have one module I have added extra - Botanica, because I wanted to be able to edit plants, and it was only $39 :)
This is the General Preferences in Esprit:
Thread: Okay I bought all the modules for Vue6 esprit now what? | Forum: Vue
I have just gotten one module, the Botanica, and it did not work like Vue said to install. I entered the serial number in the Help menu, Vue said okay, but when I restarted, no Botanica.
I had to go to my Vue CD, to the ModulesPC folder, and run the Install Botanica.exe and enter the key there. The worked on the first try.

Nope, Esprit version doesn't have that option, so guess I am just going to have to deal with it.
Thanks for the response though.

This one is only about 3 weeks old - prewedding photos. Yep, getting hitched July 29th :)
Thread: How do I recreate these sand ripples? | Forum: Vue
Actually, this is a material made up of two materials. One normal sand, the other as sand with ripples. By mixing the two, and using either a function or by using altitude/hieght options you can get this effect. I think this used to be a material in Vue, at least on version 2 or 3. Greg
