I'm just saying no. I wanted upgrades to autofit but the upgrades are not enough to send me running to V8. I'll wait til V9 is out before I look at V8 if they insist on a two year then burn model upgrade cycle. I'm sad G3F is being cut off after two years and this is the end of the line as far as new Daz content for her. But I am going to continue to work with G3F and lower models. I love textures and shaders and all the cheap old items I have picked up. Since I have yet to make a dime off my art and it is a hobby, I can pass on V8 easily enough.

I book-marked it. I haven't had the time to really get anything done lately. I have a small break today to clean up home life and do things for my kids. I am mostly just sorting my runtime. I managed to get a lot of new old content from a PC sale at Daz so it required me resort my content as Studio trashed some of my sorted content anyway. I ended up getting the gore shaders in prime today to try out on the pod by arki. I picked up a light set because I stink at lighting. I have been tempted both to create some shaders from the fabric tiles I have collected here and create some characters and and really learn to work on the skins. I am a bit overwhelmed, there is so much for me to do. Before I had put off doing characters waiting for a skin builder 3, now I have that plus places to stand characters with lots of old scene files and structures. Perhaps the lights I got will make rendering quicker. The scenes might need to be retextured to match the more detailed G3F. So I have plans to sort my files to make character and scene creation go faster plus retexture stuff I have for scenes and outfits. I guess I'm not sure whether to be creating scenes or characters. Right now jolly sessions of sorting content is all I can manage.

I managed another lazy day. I'm playing in Daz Studio and looking over what I have. I ended up buying some more texture stuff, Traveler made some Mid evil armor iray shaders. I am going to play around with making wearables presets in daz studio. I can use the iray shaders I have to dress up outfits and such. I enjoy this type of thing more than getting things ready to render I'm afraid. My husband wants a character to fight a dragon as he loves RPG's. Maybe if I fall in love with the armor I can work up to that dragon fighting scene.

My husband is opening a third rent-to-own store. I handle the computer issues on lap tops, desk-tops, sometimes tablets and phones for two stores normally. Normally I am lucky to get to bill him for 12 hours a week as I pro-rate it for him. My time away from the house is a bit more, sometimes he just wants company while he works. But with this other store opening, I have refinished 3 jewelry cases, helped put up a chairrail and paint the bottom half of the store, networked the computers company software and printers, built coffee and end tables, unpacked all the lamps and moved stuff all over the backroom as he built shelving. My father-in-law passed away last Monday and we couldn't even slow down for that. My husband needed to work through it because that's how he deals with things and I was right beside him. Maybe I should cut myself a little slack. Today I just couldn't get anything artsy done at all. Tomorrow he has more office equipment to set up and I'll be gone all day. I would love two Sundays!

I loved Dreampaint's stuff and lots of Poisen's stuff. I finally picked up The Pod by Arki and suddenly I can make those alien world scenes I always dreamed of making. I just got Skin Builder 3 and feel like I have everything to create the kind of art I always wanted to make. I want to retexture some things. I want to create some characters and maybe try painting on the textures. I am just kinda lost because now I have loads of stuff to work with and the only thing holding me back is limited time because loads of stuff is going on in real life and I am having to put in lots of hours of work outside the home. That and I am overwhelmed. Its go time, finally and I need a swift kick to the behind cause I am freezing up.
Thread: Studio into Poser — just throwing an idea out there | Forum: The Break Room
I bought some older stuff and it'd be nice to have a copy of Poser to use some of the items that won't work in daz studio. Dynamic anything for instance. But using Daz Studio doesn't pain me too much. I still can use lots of older stuff and the newer stuff and get most things fitted to a character. What would be great is an auto installer for Renderosity stuff. But I manage to install it by hand and then I can find it so I suppose the current way has advantages too.

Thanks! I was pleased with the stuff I have done and it is fun. I like playing with the textures and clothes and morphs so much, I haven't gotten around to the rest I suppose.

Okay, the question I had was what keeps you going when you are new to this and your pictures don't attract many glances in the gallery? Sure I'll make the kind of art I want to make no matter how unpopular it is. But its lonely work. For ages I said, when I have x,y,z, then I'll make something... So I haven't really done many finished renders in my life yet. I kinda have lots to do and never can decide what would be best to do first, build scenes, build characters, turn some of those seamless textures into shaders, sort all my stuff, or just render some stuff already?
