Thread: Need a Normal Flipper Utility | Forum: Poser Technical
Yes, I used the grouping tool in Poser4 to flip the normals and the object looked ok in flat a g-shading and in render. Then I exported this as a new .obj file. Now when i use poser to convert my hierarchy file to a figure using the exported .obj and create a character in poser, the shaded mesh doesn't look as smooth as befor the export and when rendered the "holes" show up. The shape of the holes are triangular and rectangular. This effect also shows up when I import this same .obj file into poser. I also tried breaking my original .obj file into 2, one that needed normals reversed and one that didn't and imported these into Poser using the two check boxes you mentioned. Exporting the combined files as a single file also produced the same result. So if there is a utility around that does the same thing that Poser does with respect to reversing normals on selected groups I'd like to give it a try.

Try this URL should have cut and pasted it (3rd try)Thread: Corel Dream 3D = Raydream? | Forum: Carrara
Thanks gang for the info. Played with it when I first got it and forgot I had it until I recently got interested in 3D modeling and bought Cinema4D Go on impulse. Now that I found CorelDream again, I find it could do all the basic things I wanted to do with it so the $ I plunked down on Cinema could have been saved. I guess the moral of this story is you should always check your own backyard before looking over the fence. Anyway, I was just curious because of the "dream" connection between the two. Looks like the basic software has been kicked around a lot but looks like the core is a survivor. Thanks all for replying and the encouragement. Sesh
Thread: Shortening the neck of P4NW | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Pat, I checked bbay and all I found was a long neck morph which is really in the head (it alters the polygons along the bottom of the head) The shortening effect is limited to the height of polygons on the bottom. But every little bit counts. Only problem with it is that the eyes don't move with the morph. Jim, I was afraid of that. As I said in my original post, I want to shorten it more than what Y scaling can do. I can scale it to about 50% before the neck starts crumpling. Any other ideas? How much of a hassle would it be to replace the neck with one with fewer rows of polygons? I have no idea what that involves.

Yes, the head stays attached, in my original post I meant to say the head does not come down not done. Looking at the mesh, the polygons closest to the head are stretched as the rest of polygons get smaller. Prolly joint parameters? Noticed that there is a Poser Technical forum also (I'm a newbie here) should I repost there?
Thread: need nose/mouth morph | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
There's a "Undernose9" morph in the Nene4.1.1 character which you can download from Poser Factory in the MT Character section. You can make the lips touch the nose, the chin moves with the lips.
