I'm on DSL and I get the message "too many connections, try again later". From what I understand, there are too many slamming the server at the same time. I get these more during the day, than I do at night, so that's why I visit at night. btw - the site is still slow, slow, slow, so if it's slow for me, then you must have a deep well of patience, Sipapu. :)

Will do, Audre. It's a mystery to me, too, since I can't duplicate what they're seeing and not seeing.
Thread: A couple of problems/questions | Forum: Community Center
Did some thorough questioning, Sipapu and Audre. Visitors can't see my homepage, nor can they see my gallery. They get sent to a blank white page that says, You do not have permission to access this page. I logged out to try and duplicate what my friends were getting and it didn't work for me... so, who knows. Audre, I can see the thumbnails in the galleries - what I cannot see and what your screenshot shows is that underneath each thumbnail there used to be a nudity or a violence warning. That's gone. So when I browse through the galleries, I can't tell if the tumbnail image I'm clicking on goes to a violent image or not. This distresses me because I've come across quite a few lately. I don't want to censor any artist for what they create, but I just chose not to look at violent images and sometimes the thumbnail doesn't really show that. When you upload an image, you can click what the adult content is, Nudity or Violence or Both, but unless someone actually puts it in their title, then there is nothing to indicate what the adult content is.

Hi Audre - I'm not the one getting the error message, it's friends who go to see my art gallery and to be honest, not one of them are savvy enough to do a screen capture. The error message, though, is just as I wrote it above. It's a string of text on a blank page. As to the nudity/violence warning, there is no error message. It used to show up underneath the thumbnail, now it does not.
Thread: Bryce 6 suggestion-list. Please everyone, tell your wishes for Bryce 6 here! | Forum: Bryce
I'd like for it to work on WinXP. I bought the upgrade which worked on my Win98, but has never worked on WinXP. After several months I was finally told by someone in support at Corel that Bryce 5 wasn't "completely compatible with WinXP", whatever that means. I'd also like to see a better interface that enlarges to fit larger monitors and better rendering time.
Thread: Special committee to not let you nominate AOM | Forum: Community Center
I don't feel the Renderosity staff is out to get ME or anyone else. The folks I've dealt with have all been upfront, helpful, courteous - what I expect from an admin. I admit to being disappointed with this solution. Although I understand the thinking behind an anonoymous committee, I do not agree that a committee should chose the nominees for AOM. As you can already see, this move opens up a whole new can of worms and in my opinion doesn't solve the original complaint. If I had realized that our feedback would have led to this, I would have voted for the AOM to stay as it was. I also have to admit that I am disappointed that I had put forth a valid and what I felt to be a fair solution, which seemed to appeal to some that posted to audre's earlier thread. my three cents... I don't like to rate images. Somehow it's like having a grade school teacher give one student an "A" and another an "F".

Thread: Why is the site sooooo sloooowwwwwww | Forum: Community Center
I'm on DSL and I've been able to do a fair job of reading the forums. It takes a little bit of time for them to load, but not so long that I lose my patience. The galleries are another matter altogether. I have not been able to view any galleries for almost a month now. The download time is just hideous. To me, that defeats 3/4 of Renderosity's reason for being. What good is it to have a gallery for an artist if you can't even enjoy their work? Also, uploading to the galleries is the pits as well. Hence, no showing off of any of my new work. The galleries are abysmyally slow, but uploads are impossible. I certainly hope some solution is found soon.
Thread: bryce on top? | Forum: Bryce
If I minimize my Bryce 4 while rendering, it stops. If I leave the window open, but go into my browser or another programme, it continues to render, but slower. Minimizing by accident has ruined very long renders in progress. :(
Thread: About voting procedures for Bryce challenge! | Forum: Bryce
I think the Bryce Challenge ought to take a lesson from the PSP Forum and just be a challenge, NOT a voting contest. The challenge ought to be just that - a challenge that stretches your imagination in order for you to learn the various aspects of the programme. Then, forget the vote for which one is best. Put the completed challenges on a page, or keep them in one thread were all can enjoy them.
