The CP site isn't too bad compared to others I've seen, it's just that it's so slooooowwwwww because of all the bright shiny stuff (mostly Flash movies, I think) cluttering up the splash page, and making the product pages (for me, at least) a bit of an ordeal. If they'd just use still images, the whole thing would have a smaller bandwidth drain and load faster, and most likely load more reliably.
About the login/logout process: yes, this is (after the recent redesign) one of the least obvious and intuitive sites I've ever seen, and in that I include several Japanese sites that needed a while playing around with Babelfish to figure out. It's terrible!
BTW, I found myself unable to check out last night. Clicked on the green button and got an error message. Anyone else having problems?
Thread: E-Frontier Announces Poser 7! | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I'm interested, although I'd have to see something fairly spectacular in the other six reasons to get all the way up to "severely tempted".
One minor annoyance I'd like to see handled is the way the content files themselves are organised. Is anyone else still annoyed by the way new stuff from EF has the .obj file stuffed into the Libraries instead of in the Geometries folder? It means you must install the figure (or whatever) where EF says it has to go, or you must edit the hardcoded pointers in the .cr2 and juggle files into various folders. The separated folder structure was put there for a reason: if the P7 content continues this practice, I won't be put off, but I'll be a little bit less inclined to buy.

Quote - No, but you can spawn morphs in Poser to make the dynamic clothing fit the simulated pose in D|S (or Poser ProPack and earlier
Is this done in the same way as exporting a body part MT in .obj format, or should we spawn the morph then re-save the prop to the library? I'm gradually getting to grips with dynamic cloth, and I'd like to at least be able to use single-frame instances in D|S.

Have fun!
("Fun" can have different meanings, too. I'm just now getting to grips with dynamic clothes in my shiny new P5. Oh, my aching brain cells... but it looks good.)

Quote - Can someone kinly tell me which folder do I download the Hero zip file into please(before I stuff it all up)? Jenny
If by "download" you mean clicking on the link on the CP website so you can get the file into your computer, the answer is, anywhere you're fairly sure you can find it again. I've put mine in the same place as my P5 setup, for the moment. Once you've unzipped the file (again, to somewhere you're not likely to lose it), you don't need it again: back it up for safekeeping. Open the unzipped folder, and follow the instructions (double-click on "index.htm").
(I started this reply the way I did because I've come across people saying "download" when they meant "install" or even "copy" and similar confusions.)

The good news: I got both files last night and installed successfully. :thumbupboth:
The not-so-good news: it's been so long since I abandoned P4 and switched over to DAZ|Studio, I've forgotten how the Poser UI works. I'll have to learn it all over again...

Quote - off to check...Just went to his current site (Planet Vixens), seems ok to me..at least the initial page.
You haven't said what browser you're using. I have no problems getting in with IE, except I don't use IE. Firefox (current version, no extras installed) gives the 403 error. Which are you using?

Well, I finally got the setup.exe tonight (after three or four failed d/l attemps) and the content is at 61% and counting.
The connections have been a bit slow, though, something like 45-50kb/sec both times. My ADSL normally maxes out at a bit over 70kb/sec.

Just be prepared to wait a few more days (or weeks...) after you've actually gone through the "purchase" and got your e-mail with the serial #. EF's servers are being hammered so hard there's just a rack-shaped grease spot where they used to be...

Quote - Or Edit>Restore>Figure will return them to the default library position.
I thought this returned the figure to its default very-slightly-crouched position. Useful, especially if you do need to use IK, but not quite all-joints-zero.
Thread: .3ds - HELP PLEASE!!! ^^ | Forum: DAZ|Studio
Quote - Export 1. Go to the OBJ output tab (last on the right, top row)
Choose or change the file name
Click the Save file button, choose a folder and press OK
Are you sure there isn't anything else to do here? I just installed PoseRay last night, been playing about with it for a while, converting .3ds and .lwo models into .obj format with .mtl file. One small problem: the .mtl file is still being ignored when I import into D|S. I know D|S had a problem with this some time ago, but I thought it had been fixed. Or is there something I could be doing wrong in the import?
I've tried re-loading the new .obj into PoseRay, it comes up all right with all textures applied.

Quote - The gallows has passed testing. Now works in Poser 4/PP/etc.
Does this mean it'll work in DAZ|Studio now? Anything with these P6 external morphs is also a no-no in DAZ|Studio.
Thread: Daz layout size | Forum: DAZ|Studio
"Landscape" isn't a size — it's just the orientation of the print page, whether wide (landscape) or tall (portrait). It's totally independent of the picture dimensions, whatever measuring unit you use.
Thread: Daz layout size | Forum: DAZ|Studio
The only dimensions D|S understands right now is pixels. Are you wanting to save in "print quality" size? If that's it, then find out what resolution you want to print at (150 dots per inch, 200 dpi, 300 dpi, whatever) and simply multiply to find out the pixel dimensions you need to plug into the Render Options dialog. When you print the rendered pic, there should be a box to enter the resolution: enter the dpi figure you started with (150, 200, 300 etc) and the print size should snap to the page size you want.
I use an old version of Paint Shop Pro for printing, your program might be different.
