I think it's already dead, it just won't accept it.

It does work fine in Windows 10, I've used it without any problems.

I install 7.0.0.19 after installing Bryce, then install 7.0 .0.21

I would'nt be surprised if Daz stopped Bryce development altogether. It sells for $20 approx (£10). Hardly a money spinner.

Is it really worth it to them? Bryce 7 has not been fixed yet, despite the fact that it crashes all over the place, is not compatible with certain versions of Mac OS, has features that don't actually work, i.e. the Undo button in the Terrain editor, and is 32bit. To make it 64 bit which would be brilliant, would mean re-writing the whole program, which is time and money consuming and may not even be possible because of the way the original Bryce was written.

It's really a fun toy compared to higher end render apps, so are Daz really going to spend any more time on it?

I hope they do as it's beauty lies in it's simplicity compared to some 3D programs, and it is capable of producing excellent results.

I just had a look at 3DTotal. I personally wouldn't post any of my renders there though, probably get laughed off

and I'd be asked to leave. :)

There's some excellent work on there.

I like criticism, it can help improve a persons work, as long as it's constructive.

I have seen a lot of people giving really good comments on every image uploaded by the same author.

Even though the images in my opinion were not that good. Could never understand it.

Although I've had a lot of nice comments for my work, I don't really comment on many myself.

I'm not a very good critic so I try not to. Sometimes it's better to be silent and be thought of as a fool, than speak out and remove all doubt. :)

You can also use UV mapping in wings3D and save the model and import it in to Bryce.

Wings3D is excellent and completely free.

When Bryce gives you the error can you show us exactly what it says.

When it happens press the Print Scrn key. That will take a picture of the screen.

Goto The Start button and click "All Programs" then click "Accessories" and click on "Paint"

When Paint opens click "Paste" at the top left. That will paste the screen image.

Save the image and post it here for us to see.

That's not entirely true. I have a Core 2 Quad and when Bryce renders in Low priority it still uses all 4 cores although not up to the maximum. It's about 24% (6% per core.) Normal priority is 49 -50% using all 4 and High priority is 99 - 100% using all 4.

That's not strictly true.

If you look at and click to enlarge the image I posted above of the 3 different priority settings you will see that Low priority actually uses all 4 cores, although the graph is more erratic.
