I think you need to use a tripod or set your camera on a car, bench or anything that won't budge. You can then use your self timer to make sure you don't experience any camera shake. Your camera maybe also be having problems focussing at night but you can't be sure until you solve your steadiness problem. Stopping down your lens as Rork1973 mentioned is a good idea. Good luck.

Thread: To darkroom or not to darkroom, that is the question...... | Forum: Photography
Ouch! Tough questions. I was a color darkroom technician for a couple years. It can be done but it is one big pain and unless you have some previous experience the learning curve can become quite expensive. Chemistry and paper for slides reproduction is not cheap. Not here anyway. I have never been a big fan of color prints from slides. The contrast and colors never seem quite right to me. Another option for you maybe to find a lab/repro shop that has a good scanner/operator and get it done that way. Then you can crop, tweak, and correct on your own. If you get a cheap epson color printer you can do alot of your own prints and once in awhile treat yourself to an iris or a pictro. My opinon is a good to great scan will beat a print 9 times out of 10.
Thread: Intermediate..?! Or, More Advanced..?!! | Forum: Photography
Hi Doruksal, I agree with you 100% about the work shown in the contest. I went into the advance category because I new PunkClown and Maygen would kick my ass (alpha hadn't posted yet). Plus, I thought it was unfare to post 4x5 images in intermediate some might see that as an unfare advantage (I don't). I really enjoyed all the work done but Maygen's image is my person favorite of all categories. Just one great pic to stare at. I don't mind the portfolio idea but I wouldn't for every contest. It would be good once in awhile though. Nice to see words by you again.

James & the Giant Peach and Nightmare Before Christmas are two of my all time favorite flicks. I would highly recommend them as well. I love the soundtrack for Nightare as well. Pretty sad to here about Pee Wee.

majesty (mj-st) The greatness and dignity of a sovereign. The sovereignty and power of God. Majesty Used with His, Her, or Your as a title and form of address for a sovereign. Royal dignity of bearing or aspect; grandeur. Stately splendor; magnificence, as of style or character Yes a great word to describe that image. Very well done.

I agree with Syyd. These images stir up emotions and feelings. I have never seen buildings and architecture like this. Where I live ancient means less than 100 years old. Thanks for posting more of these.

I am going to have check out that movie. I might get inspired. I used to watch Pee Wee's Playhouse all the time. What an innovative show. It is to bad what happend to his career. If he had of looked like Hugh Grant it might not have affected him as much.

Shot with a 25 year old 4x5 camera with a crappy little lens. I used Ikea goose neck lamps with tin foil and cardboard tubes as snoots and reflectors. The background is a snake plant. Thanks for the comments Slynky.
