Me again... ack.. Bill Munn rendered the hanging gardens of babylon.. you can find all the wonders here
http://www.billmunnsgallery.com/swgallery.html
but as far as I know, the tower of babel was a zigurat (a pyramide). If you google mesapotamia and zigurat, you might find what you are looking for. Good luck. Let me know if I can help you further.

Hi JoArtist. Nice to meetcha. I don't think I've met you before. I understand you perfectly well, and English is only my second language, so I think you will do just fine. :) Don't feel embarassed. I try not to, when I'm posting a lot of typos. :)
I'm trying to think of who made a series of renders of the wonders of the ancient world, including the tower of babel. I think it was Bill Munn. I will google it, and come back here if I find it. :)

I use the terrain editor for modeling, - but when I build house structures (re. you photo reference) I use latices... :) It's usable on both sides.
Also, to make a thick forest, I don't use a lot of trees. I use either cylinders or trunk freebies. Then I use bryce trees (if any) as brances. Unless you render the wood from a brid's eye, your visual isn't whole trees. When you walk there, you will see undercover, and brances. So I stick bryce trees into the trunks to show an occational branch. Other than that it's smart to use undercover, made up by 2d faces with leaf textures (with alpha channel) this takes a lot off the render time.

wht an excellent idea! I got to think on several feasts.. A Danish novel describes one, then there is Brugels painting.. hmm... and then of course our Scandinavian Christmas feasts. lol you've got my vote.

To be honest, I don't really know what was "new" in ver. 5 except for the Tree lab. I jumped straight from ver. 2 to 5. lol I think most of the shortcuts are the same. I envy you guys who used ver 3 and 4 and got so profisient in using shortcuts, and modeling with latices etc. :)
When it comes to the tree-lab, there was a challenge here,hmm.. I think around 2 years back. AS might lead you to the right date. There were lots of cries for "help" and some very helpful guidelines along the way to our final "products". I posted a tutorial on how to make "flowering trees" here, as a result of the challenge. :)
Have you downloaded the 5.01 patch? if not, you need to do that, it comes with lots of tree presets. Also, do a search for Alvin. He posted some great trees in the freestuff here.
Hmm... what else? lol I'm in the midst of teaching a Bryce beginner's class at www.lvsonline.com, so I'm a bit "bryced out" at the moment. (Not to speak of having a bryce render directed to my HD... it's now been running for 24 hrs, and is only 35% done). We have more than 30 fresh Bryce users this semester, and I'm gonna point them in this forum's general direction.
Just as a PS.. I think the renderfarming is new in Bryce 5 (Bryce lightening). I have never had much success with it. Not sure why. So I keep rendering on just one macine. lol
Ouch... where are my manners.... extending hand Hi, I'm Britt, A stranded Norwegian viking in the US. Partly living in Florida, and partly where I'm at the moment, in the Smoky mountains. :) Nice to meetcha!

You might want to look into the Bryce for Beginners clas at www.lvsonline.com.
This 6 weeks class has started, but there will be a new one in 5 weeks. At the moment we're more than 30 new brycers in class, and it's fun! :)

lol you might know that the currency in Norway is "kroner", internationally abbreviated to NOK (Norwegian Kroner). However, this seems to be a little known fact among a lot of tourists coming to Norway. Lots of bank cashiers will tell stories about people coming in to buy Norwegian currency, asking to exchange $100 into "knockers" Britt

The very best alternative I have found is a freebie, CKRename. I have re-organized several runtimes with it, and it's very stabile and easy to learn. http://www.musicsucks.com/CKSoft/index.htm Good luck, Britt PS.. I have no clue as of why the root directory is called "musicsucks" lol The software rocks!

Thank you so much for selecting "Republic day in India". It was not an easy picture to take. It was early morning, the lights were great... and this small school apparently celebrated the day. We were in a car, I wanted to get the car stopped, but in a split second I realized that I would not get the mood and the light I wanted. So I selected to shoot through the car window. I found it very difficult to take "spontaneous shots" when we were there... Best to ask first, and then the mood would go away. But I got a few this time... AND I have secured my pictures from this travel! lol so there will be more :) Britt
