Thanks for that Eric! I'll be doing a bit of R and D today then. I know my husband has a Virtual running, never paid much attention to it, just saw it as one of his "cool toys". Great thought! I'll come back in the thread and post the outcome!

From what I've been told by Antoine the Mac/PC versions are the same. I agree with cckens observations though. I also think familiarity and time spent within the interface plays against the "sluggishness". I've done a number of shorts for demo CDs with Carrara 3 and felt pretty darn comfortable with it. Could possibly boil down to personal perspective. One man's Porche is another's Ford...if ya know what I mean. Kat
Thread: Forum stuff (what do we need) Please post with your opinions! | Forum: Carrara
Kix, 1) No, unless you feel you need some assistance. I say no, simply because last night I posted a question and had a great answer within hours. I don't post alot simply because I'm lucky enough to say, I have alot of work on the books. But I do visit 3 times a week and read through threads. Which seems always to give me another pearl of wisdom. 2) Haven't visited. Shame on me. But a forum can never have too many resource avenues. 3) I think the Resource CD is a great idea, but possibly could be handled a bit more proactively. Instead of waiting for volunteers, turn it into a marketing feature. Invite certain Carrara users (say 5-10 individuals) to utilize the CD to show their work and skills. Then market the CD within Rosity and other applicable sister sites. It would turn it into a specific project driven item. Just a thought. 4) I try to enter the ones I have time for...I see it as a community gathering event, and try to support when my schedule allows. 5) Another time sensitive issue. Haven't had the time to participate, but my schedule allows, I will. 6) Can't speak to this...I have chat in my own art forum TrollzBane, and I don't use it there. I just don't have time for chatting. 7) Agreed. Maybe it's not more needed, but rather a different rollout on all above. IMHO But I will say, the forum is VERY helpful, and I always leave knowing something I didn't before. And Kix, kudos to you for a job well done. Kat

Fabulous Mike! Thanks SO much for that...and on a Saturday evening. I also appreciate the additional caveats toward the mesh planning. You just made my night. Kat
Thread: *New Merchant Policy Changes* | Forum: Community Center
Anyone want to walk a mile in Rosity's et al shoes? These financial changes are long time coming. Anyone else own/operate a site as: enormous, difficult to manage/update ((HEY GUYS! .NET)) expensive to run, and every soul that enters can do ALOT for free. Rosity is SLOWLY turning the corner from Freeware Community to Business. So what? Don't like it, leave. Good luck finding the same exposure though. It also seems that they are trying to break new ground in copyright protection, online sales implimentation, and consumer safety. At least give all this some time to run it's course and give a result. And $300 ain't alot. sheesh

I am of the understanding from Antoine V3 has an updated manual and DigitalRiver is also publishing a V3 userbook.
