I have seen it change well after the 4 or 5th comments.
In a childish move on my part I attempted to leave a poor rating after this person would not respond. I was the 8th person to rate that image and my low rating had zero effect on this persons score.
After that I quit commenting altogether on this person and started watching even more closely.
As a interesting side note the title of that image if taken in context of what I think is happening could have been both a dare or a threat.

Quote - Save yourself alot of grief and turn off the rating box, personally i find it stupid like the "Vote" button that used to be here.
I can live with the lower ratings. Heck I'm a newbie artist anyway!Â
BUT... what about site security? If this part can be hacked who knows what else is vulnerable!

Quote - Arrrgh mate... happens all the time to me... there are even peopel keeping spreadsheets of favs, comments, who favs, who comments.. and cycles the days to maintain a higher than would be expected rating for their images... it's called the hug club... and unless enter into the club and are accepted by them... that is fav and comment back... then your images will always be crap in their eyes. Small people with large egos and no artistic talent whatsoever... a bit like me really... but I rely on hopefully, some crativity in my images, not much I know.. but I try. We really don't need a rating system at all for artwork... the best rating system, is when someone buys your artwork, I really like that system.
Yes, but again I'm not talking about the pat on the back stuff.
I am talking about the alteration of scores by hacking the system. I think that is what is being done here.

This is much different then a low rating thing. This is about the possible alteration of scoring!!!
I think this person has figured out how to alter their star rating despite having a low score and change it to a higher star rating.
Thread: Why the lack of contests? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
 I am very pleased by everyone's enthusiasm!Â
If I don't get a response back from the mod I emailed for more information I will try other mods to see what needs to be done to get this going.

Thank you for that input Miss Nancy. I wouldn't want to run a contest with that being a goal. The contests I envision would be about promoting more products and useful items for us all here. A way to show the creative talents of our venders and artists. I still have not heard back yet from the mod I messaged for information. hopefully I will hear something soon,

Quote - no matter which "tool" you use it is going to take time, and patience along with trial n error..
this was done in the face room with the texture it made from a photo of mine
This is a cool character you have made stallion! I had no idea what figure you had used to make it. Those are the kinds of character I like the best. Well done! This is the kind of work I am hoping I can do with face shop.

I have asked for more information about getting something going. Thank you Robin for offering to help! Are there other people interested in helping with a contest too? Thank you dphoadley for the prize offering! Other prize offerings would be be helpful too if other folks would like to pitch in with the same spirit! Cully

I have not run a contest but I would be willing to try if I could have help from other artists. I think it would also be important to have help from Rendo itself in the form of links and promotion. I don't know where to begin but I am motivated to get the ball rolling!
Thread: Why the lack of contests? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I am referring to the Rendo home page. When I click from there to "open contests" I am sent to page- http://www.renderosity.com/mod/contest/index.php?browse&open On that page there is 2 Bryce specific, 1 Fractal, 4 Terragen, 2 Vue and a few other odds and ends contests. None of these are Poser specific. Here there are not even links to where someone could find a Poser contest. Promotion is needed for both having contests and where to find them!
Thread: Why the lack of contests? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
All contest should be able to be viewed from the Rendo home page by clicking the "Open Contest" link. IF that page became to cluttered there could always be a link from there to the Poser contest forum area. Rules are fine but I worry when the rules seem to stifle growth. If the contests are dying from lack of being found this would be a good way to attract the attention. Contests could also be promoted in the newsletters.

Quote - We use to do that-- a lot
But it's against the forum rules now.Â
I'll give ya an example-
I need a new top Banner for my site. We use to be able to post a little forum challenge and give away one of our store products as a prize.
Not anymore!
It has to be in the contest forum and is too big a hastle and time comsuming to get it all set up ect....
To formal and far to tightly regulated.
When I say Vender contest, I do not mean sponsored by a vender but a contest for venders (or potential venders) to compete against each other. Are you saying that also is against the rules?

Thank you butterfly_fish for the information! Has anyone else tried the Celeste items for SP3? I only recently found & bought them. The clothing items are very good IMHO.

That is a fine detailed list of tips! I will use these tips as a extra guide when I buy this item! Getting these kinds of tips on how to use various software from experienced artists are one of the things that have really helped me improve my art. Thank you BastBlack for all of these tips!
