I came to the forums to ask how to search Renderosity for V4 M4 content and how to search for clearance items. I can never find it directly from the marketplace home page, and I have never quite figured out what I do to get to a page that has the search filter tabs (though not for clearance?).
All this talk here about the V4/M4 and on the' should I upgrade to 12' issueย has gotten me discouraged about the future of my now sizeable content library.ย sigh.
Thread: Is it worth upgrading to Poser 12 | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I have a large amount of $$ invested in Poser content, both from Rendo and Daz.ย This a little bit from time to time over a decade. It adds up. A lot is V4M4.ย I liked the ability in Poser 11 to reduce facets and make groups of static props out of figures. You could make big crowd scenes.ย I still mostly use P2014, however. A lot is because I am not dependent on Renderosity to keep it from shutting down like in Poser11 and 12. When my Poser11 shuts down periodically I have to scamble. So I "backport" items from Poser 11 to Poser2014.
Why should I continue to buy content if it is going to become unusable in a few years?ย ย Shouldn't the software be theย reason for artists and vendors to invest in content?

In the USA it was a Joint Venture between Timex and Sinclair corporation for the Timex SInclair computer which we probably still have somewhere's around.ย Thanks for the information.

Yes, Happy with the vendors, not really happy with this particular Christmas format.ย Although I tried to check everyday once I found this was going on, only got a few items every other day, and it was like "Aw I missed that one yesterday?".ย More disappointment than it was worth.ย Hopeย they don't doย this again or that they do midnight to midnight or that they have a catch up.ย I never foundย out the deadline hour when things changed.
Thread: 24 Days of Christmas weirdness | Forum: MarketPlace Customers
I believe I may have had a similar experience to the above in terms of take down time. I thought it was just my imagination with everything goingย on.
I have one additional question, was it 24 days or 25?ย I'm here in the morning on the 26th and if it was 25 everything is already gone but it should be here for a few more hours.ย
I was hoping there would have been a catch up day for the items I missed. There were several I would have liked.

Also, Keep in mind I'm being vocal not because I dislike Poser but rather the opposite. I really do like Poser.

All this being said, I think it would be okay to pay for poser in partial payments or lump sum as long as when I'm done I get to keep the version I paid for running and hopefully transportable if I upgrade machines after the company has moved on to supporting newer versions.
When I said "models... in a bind" above, in that one instance of non-subscription I was talking business models.

I will take Jenn up on her offer when I get the serial number, thank you.ย I just risk everything on the machine by taking it online. What I mean by dead-end models is that if your software dies that's it.ย They are of no value unless you can find another software to run them.ย This is not the razor blade model where you buy the razor (Poser) once and then keep buying blades. This is the keep buying the razor and keep buying the blades. Rendo is trying to be a subscription model like Adobe, but they're different because they have the store and the models which are the real value in the long run.ย At some point for the consumer after a couple of iterations I don't think the rent the razor and buy the blades is going to work.
Smith Micro abandoned Poser and my Game developer died. Money I consider wasted. Fortunately they left 2014 okay and I was able to downgrade. Now I went to use Poser 11 which I thought had a permanent license on thatย machine and it was kaput.ย At this moment my investment in both Game Developer and Poser 11 have no value because neither work.ย
I would like to support Poser , but don't think I should try to justify it anymore. At some point
Jenn could say, "Sorry we don't support 11" and then Poser 11 is
gone from me like game developer.ย Hooking up that machine online to reactivate their software is a big risk, and I'm debating whether I want to deal with the consequences if it gets an infection. I could lose everything including personal data. At the moment I'm not likely to buy 12 or any more versions, but that's just me.ย I'm in a waiting mode until I need one of the game developer features that 11 had that I liked.ย
As a consumer there is a limit to how many subscription items I can afford, whether it is streaming media, apps or other.ย In "other" I hear automakers are planning to make the software features in their cars subscription. You buy a 40,000 car and soon you're going to have to keep paying on a permanent recurring basis for the software to keep it running.ย Another monthly expense to ad to the credit card. When you sell your car the software is going to be disabled until the next owner buys a new subscription.ย
I'm going to be looking for models that aren't going to put me in a bind a few years down the road if the economy goes bad or inflation outpaces my wages or I don't have the recurring income that I do now.
The thing with Poser, if they DON'T go subscription, I can always buy models when I have money. Models may have value in an inflationary economy.ย If I don't have the software I'm not going to be buying models.ย I have some LaFemme and LaHomme characters and clothing and hairย but I'm not going to buy anymore right now because I don't have anything that will run them.ย That's what I mean by dead end models.

Please consider that if I didn't have Poser 2014 on my machine to play with and start up anytime I wanted, I would not be buying more items at renderosity or Daz. It's only because the 2014 software still works that I am continuing, albeit in a slower fashion than I would if I knew I wouldn't be buying dead-end models.ย If I just had Poser 11 I'd be done at this point when it ended.

Okay it looks like this one is operator error; Walked away and came back and saw problem.
Can anyone tell me the default values for "Tighten fit" Radius, magnitude and poke-through margin? I've now gotten them out of whack.

On second thought, while both are contenders I think that ghostman is right. It's Electra hair.

If it's the one I think you're looking for, If you go to Darkworld's Poses and look under the editorial tab he tells you that it is Kouros hair by SAV, whom we miss so much:

Thread: Limbo Rock! Lost Figure: Teray Yuki 2. Where can I get the base today?? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I thought TY2 was a Japanese advertising product added to Poser and then had clothing etc here at Rendo, so that's why I asked here first, because it was a part of Content Paradise that Rendo acquired.
Thread: Limbo Rock! Lost Figure: Teray Yuki 2. Where can I get the base today?? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
If there is a way to buy TY2 at efrontier it is not obvious. The only site I can find is entirely written in Japanese. And before you say it, I tried unsccessfully to look at it in Google Translate.
They do, however, appear to be a reseller of Poser11.
