I really like like Steph, personally. I like her musculature, which is much more realistic than Vicky's. I find muscle definition sexy, so I like to give most of my female characters some measure of muscle definition. Steph is particularly good to use when making elves. I picture my elves as long and lean, almost wiry. Steph does that really well. The reason for this thread was that I was having trouble going ot the other end of the spectrum with her.
Thread: Slightly OT but anyway | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Wow, that's really scary. I've been online for 5+ years now, and have downloaded many gigs worth of stuff in that time, and I've been lucky enough to avoid any really nasty experiences with virii. (knock on wood) I use the normal virus scanning methods and some common sense, but that's about it. Any idea where you might have gotten it?
Thread: Anyone with access to multiple PC's - you gotta network em!!! | Forum: Bryce
Bambam, I don't know how it will play out on a home network, but it was really easy to get going on the network at my work. All I did was install Bryce Lightning on all the machines that would be the "helper" machines, you don't even need to install Bryce, just Lightning. Then you run Lightning and it shows you that machine's IP addr and says that it's waiting for directions. Then you open a Bryce image on the host machine and set up the network settings (it's in "render animation" - don't ask me shrug) You add each of the IP's of your helper machines to the list, click go, and bingo! you watch little tiles of your image get sent to each box and they get to work. Hopefully it goes as smooth for you!
Thread: Question to everyone that renders in Bryce | Forum: Bryce
OK, one thing I would have to point out is that there are many forms of "art". Modeling is one of them. Obviously this is an area where you excel (and I do not). I'm not alone, in fact I would say that the majority of 3d "artists" out there are probably seriously lacking in modelling skills. That being said, there is more to art than modelling. There is composition, lighting, colors, and yes, even textures. Some of my art involves me creating some sort of landscape, then inserting Poser figures (which I obviously didn't model). However, the fact that I didn't get in there and model my character out of primitives doesn't make my work any less "art" than yours. I spend many, many hours, sometimes weeks, positioning things just so, and texturing tiny pieces just right, and test rendering, and making adjustments, and then doing postwork. It's not like I'm just some hack, and there are many others out there who make art that's MUCH better than mine without doing their own modelling. So I guess that what I'm trying to say is that there is a lot more to 3d art than sheer modeling alone.
Thread: Setting up network rendering... Any help? (More details of setup) | Forum: Bryce
The network uses TCP/IP to communicate, and I don't think that using what amounts to a null cable (USB) can use that protocol. Can you transmit files or anything else (non-bryce) between them using that USB cable? You might have to get a traditional hub or router and set up a network the traditional way rather than try to use just a USB cable. I can't imagine it working that way. I just got network rendering set up today at work, and it is definately worth your time...

holy crap, I don't see how Poser even loads on a machine that slow, and with only 32 megs (!!!!) of RAM. It might be crashing during renders because you're running out of RAM.
Thread: Crashing Bryce 5 | Forum: Bryce
I have Bryce 5 on two machines, both running XP since before it was officially released, and I've never had any troubles with Bryce. I used to have trouble with Poser crashing when I was using Win98, but since I went to XP my Poser crashes are a thing of the past.
Thread: Scott, where IS the place to discuss VS's pic? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Gotcha. Honestly I hadn't thought of that. I've always thought of the OT forum as a place to talk about the NBA playoffs or the latest Sandra Bullock flick. Since this issue was regarding a Poser image, I had assumed it would belong in the Poser forum. But I digress. :)

I agree with cookienose. Brandi is the only person that comes to mind when I look at her.

I've begun making a tiger texture for Lionheart. It works fairly well without the mane. Not exactly tiger-like without the rough, but passable. I know that Lemurtek had begun development on a Shere Khan version of Lionheart. Lemur, if you read this, I don't know where you are on your tiger-man project, but if it's on hold for now, maybe you could release the morph for the tiger's face?
